BARCELONA: Roberto Di Matteo memuji semangat luar biasa anak buahnya selepas Chelsea melengkapkan kebangkitan menakjubkan dengan mengejutkan Barcelona untuk mara ke final Liga Juara-Juara, awal pagi semalam.

Pada malam yang luar biasa dalam sejarah pertandingan terunggul itu, barisan Chelsea terasa bahang selepas kapten John Terry dilayangkan kad merah sebelum bangkit daripada ketinggalan 2-0 untuk menyamakan kedudukan 2-2 dan menang 3-2 secara agregat ke atas skuad Catalans itu. Pemain tengah Brazil, Ramires dan penyerang Fernando Torres menjaringkan gol bagi memastikan laluan Chelsea ke final di Munich, selepas Sergio Busquets dan Andres Iniesta meletakkan Barcelona di depan. Chelsea jelas terhutang segala-galanya dengan usaha kolektif barisan wira mereka yang sudah lali dengan pertempuran getir apabila sekali lagi menyelamatkan pasukan daripada kekalahan.

“Ia adalah perlawanan yang luar biasa dengan semua peristiwa berlaku,” kata Di Matteo. “Saya sangat gembira dan memuji semua pemain kerana mereka berhak di atas kejayaan ini.

“Kami berdepan musim yang sukar; mereka seolah-olah mampu membongkar sesuatu yang istimewa apabila dikehendaki. Saya rasa ini adalah sebahagian DNA pemain.

“Barcelona adalah pasukan terbaik dunia. Mereka menakjubkan. Mereka memiliki beberapa pemain terbaik dunia dalam pasukan itu.

Selepas Barca, giliran Real Madrid gagal ke final

KUASA bola sepak dunia, Sepanyol menerima tamparan hebat apabila dua kelab gergasi La Liga, Barcelona dan Real Madrid tersingkir dan gagal ke final Liga Juara-Juara di Arena Allianz Munich, 19 Mei ini.
Selang 24 jam selepas Barcelona dihampakan jaringan saat akhir Fernando Torres untuk kemenangan agregat 3-2 Chelsea di Camp Nou, giliran Real Madrid pula tewas menerusi sepakan penalti penentuan kepada kelab Jerman, Bayern Munich di Santiago Bernabeu, awal pagi semalam.
Dengan barisan bintang bernilai ratusan juta ringgit yang diturunkan Real Madrid, diketuai Cristiano Ronaldo, yang memberikan pendahuluan dengan dua gol awal, penjaring hebat itu gagal menepati statusnya selepas sepakan penalti penentuannya dinafikan penjaga gol Bayern, Manuel Neuer.

Heynckes puas singkir Real

MADRID: Pengendali Bayern Munich, Jupp Heynckes tidak bercakap besar selepas menundukkan Real Madrid - kelab yang memecatnya selepas dia memenangi Kejuaraan Eropah 1998.

Tetapi Heynckes puas dapat membalas dendam dengan melakukan perkara sama apabila menafikan tempat ke final Liga Juara-Juara buat kelab yang pernah berada di bawah bimbingannya itu.
Bayern memenangi perlawanan separuh akhir Liga Juara-Juara dengan kelebihan 3-1 pada penentuan penalti selepas dua perlawanan separuh akhir menyaksikan kedua-dua pasukan terikat dengan agregat 3-3.

Kelab Jerman berkenaan akan menjadi kelab pertama beraksi pada final di gelanggang sendiri - Allianz Arena - menentang Chelsea 19 Mei ini. “Apabila memikirkan kami akan bermain di laman sendiri, ia cukup menggembirakan. Ia sesuatu yang unik,” kata Heynckes.

Pengendali Jerman yang akan menyambut ulang tahun kelahiran ke-67 beberapa hari sebelum final itu, pernah membantu Madrid menjuarai Liga Juara-Juara 1998 yang menamatkan kemarau 32 tahun kelab Sepanyol berkenaan tetapi dia dipecat pada penghujung musim berikutnya selepas sekadar menamatkan saingan liga di tangga keempat.

Pada perlawanan timbal balik kelmarin, Madrid yang ketinggalan 1-2 selepas kekalahan pada separuh akhir pertama, kembali mendapat kelebihan selepas Cristiano Ronaldo menyempurnakan sepakan penalti dan satu gol mudah dalam 15 minit pertama.

Namun Arjen Robben kembali menceriakan kem Bayern menerusi penalti minit ke-27 yang menyaksikan kedudukan agregat 3-3 kekal sehingga masa tambahan.

Pada penentuan penalti, penjaga gol Bayern, Manuel Neuer muncul wira apabila menyelamatkan sepakan Ronaldo dan Kaka. “Madrid mampu menjuarai Liga Juara-Juara pada masa depan, bukan kerana sejarahnya tetapi kerana jurulatih serta pemainnya,” kata Heynckes.

Menurut Heynckes, bos Madrid, Jose Mourinho datang ke bilik persalinan Bayern untuk mengucapkan tahniah selepas perlawanan. “Ia satu tindakan yang cukup terpuji,” katanya. – AP

Mourinho janji kekal di Bernabeu


MADRID: Jose Mourinho berjanji akan terus setia bersama Real Madrid walaupun gagal membawa kelab Sepanyol itu ke final Liga Juara-Juara buat dua musim berturut-turut.

“Jika kelab dan pemain mahu saya terus di sini, saya akan kekal,” kata Mourinho selepas disingkirkan Bayern Munich menerus penentuan penalti pada separuh akhir kedua di Santiago Bernabeu, kelmarin.

“Saya cukup bangga dengan pemain. Memang sukar untuk sesebuah pasukan mara ke separuh akhir dua musim berturut-turut atau enam separuh akhir dalam tempoh lapan tahun bagi jurulatih. Kami berhak menang.”

Mourinho yang mempunyai kontrak bersama Madrid sehingga 2014, turut mengharapkan kelab Inggeris yang pernah dikendali, Chelsea, menang final di Allianz Arena 19 Mei nanti.

“Sudah tentu saya mahu Chelsea menang, mereka adalah wira ketika mengatasi Barcelona dengan hanya 10 pemain,” kata Mourinho yang mempunyai dua gelaran Liga Juara-Juara sebagai pengendali.

Chelsea seal deal for Marin
Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign Werder Bremen midfielder Marko Marin.
The Blues announced on their official website that they have agreed an undisclosed fee and the 23-year-old Germany international has agreed personal terms.

Marin will join Chelsea in the summer.

Marin, who joined Bremen from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2009 and was contracted to the club until June 2013, has already passed a medical in London and will sign a contract with the Blues in the next few weeks, according to his current club.

Speaking ahead of Bremen's Bundesliga match with Wolfsburg today, Marin said he cannot wait to play in the Barclays Premier League.

"I had a really good time with Werder together with many great guys here, and I have lots of nice memories, but of course I am looking forward to the challenge of playing in the Premier League with such an established club," he said.

Marin made his Germany debut in 2008 and was part of their 2010 World Cup squad. However, he has spent much of this season on the sidelines due to injury and is not assured of a place in Joachim Low's squad for Euro 2012.

Bremen's director of sport Klaus Allofs said in a statement: "We have always said that we would be open to talk if any of our players receives a good offer which was also interesting for Werder and we had good talks with the management at Chelsea, so that we were able to reach an agreement quickly.

"In the coming weeks, we will then deal with the last formalities.
"We wish Marko all the best for this new challenge."

Chelsea vs QPR Player Ratings
Chelsea are brimming with confidence after a comprehensive 6-1 thumping of QPR at Stamford Bridge with Fernando Torres completing a hat-trick.

It was Chelsea from start to finish, with Sturridge opening the scoring with just 45 seconds on the clock.

Terry then headed in Mata's corner and Torres grabbed his hat-trick against a hapless QPR side. Malouda scored Chelsea sixth before Cisse put away a consolation goal for the visitors.

Virtually nothing to do in the game until he awkwardly pushed away a shot from Mackie. Cisse then appeared out of nowhere to rob him of his clean sheet.

John Terry - 8
Delivered the goods when all eyes were on the Chelsea skipper, grabbing a goal in typical fashion. Dominant in the air and continued to venture forward even though his side were four goals up.

José Bosingwa (82' off) - 7
Partnered Terry in the heart of the Chelsea defence. He wasn't too adventurous, always taking the safe option of a back pass.

Ashley Cole - 7.5
A perfect balance of attack and defence down the left for Chelsea. Unfortunately for him, the only time he was caught out of position saw Cisse find the back of the net.

Paulo Ferreira - 6.5
A stroll in the park for him as Cisse had a disappointing game. With the injuries and the games coming thick and fast, he'll have to be on top of his game if Chelsea want to end the season with silverware.

Frank Lampard - 7.5
Did not show any signs of fatigue with his incredible work rate in this match. Pulled the strings from midfield and was involved in almost all of Chelsea's attacks.

Michael Essien - 6.5
Was tasked with guarding his untroubled back four, allowing his team mates freedom to move around the pitch. He's had far more torrid days out.

Salomon Kalou (73' off) - 6.5
An inch perfect pass with the right amount of pace in the ball set up Torres for his first goal. Plenty of running and desire in the wide positions.

Daniel Sturridge - 8
46 seconds after kick-off he relieved his team of any pressure whatsoever by scoring a goal from outside the box. Looked dangerous everytime he had the ball and ran tirelessly.

Juan Mata (67' off) - 9
A great debut season for the Spainard who apart from Cech, has featured in more games than any other Chelsea player. Intelligent with the ball and always had an eye for a killer pass with two assists to his name in the game to prove it.

Fernando Torres - 9.5
The 50m splashed on him finally paying dividends? Continued where he left off at the Nou Camp - confidently taking on the Rangers defenders and sealing his first Chelsea hat-trick in the 64th minute. The good old days might just be back for El Nino and his legion of fans.
