Laundrette operator: I’m not racist, I just want cleanliness

PETALING JAYA: The operator of a Muslim-only self-service laundrette in Muar says he is not racist as some have claimed but only wants to ensure that cleanliness can be maintained at all times.
Speaking to FMT today, he stressed on the issue of cleanliness, explaining that 95% of the customers at his laundrette were Muslims.
“If we look at the issue from an Islamic perspective, cleanliness is very important to us and something we must strive for at all times.
“There are other laundrettes available nearby. So, it wouldn’t be a problem for non-Muslims if they needed to find another place to wash their clothes,” said the laundrette operator, who did not wish to be named.
He claimed he implemented the Muslim-only policy a week ago once he saw that other launderettes had opened nearby.
A signboard at the entrance of his laundrette now reads: “For Muslim customers only. Leave your shoes outside.”
His business policy however, sparked controversy after pictures of the signboard was spread through print and social media.
Responding to the feedback from those on social media, the laundrette owner stressed that he was not racist as some had claimed.
“Non-Muslims are not being deprived of a choice as there are a few other laundrettes in the area which they can go to.
“We respect other religions but ensuring cleanliness is a requirement under Islam.” |

tak suka? ada byk lagi kedai dhobi lain. mengapa nak meroyan sgt. lain orang lain fahaman tentang kebersehan.ada yg pandang kebersehan dr sudut luaran , ada yg kaitkan dgn ajaran agama. dah pakaian orang islam digunakan semasa solat tentu la nak berseh dr sudut ajaran agama. |

elok pengusaha kedai dobi ni jelaskan makna "kebersihan "yang difahaminya.....kebersihan yg mcm mana?
sesetengah orang kata itu hak dia la..dia tauke...dia punya bisness....sukahati dia..sesetengah orang kata tindakan dia ni tak mencerminkan islam..rasis dan sebagainya

kedai dobi ni dalah satu perkhidmatan dobi...kalau perkhidmatan ni diasingkan kerana fahaman yang tak jelas kerana agama memang akan jadi pelik
nak tahu gak apa makna kebersihan yang dia nyatakan? setau aku najis non muslim dan muslim sama ja...ke atau maybe dia anggap tkt non muslim tak basuh najis berat mcm najis anjing kot....
so kalau mcm tu ...ulama kena jelaskan hukum tersebut....tak perlu polemik sebab nanti ia akan menjadikan islam tu sempit dan susah...islam agama yang mudah tanpa meninggalkan syariat dan ketetapan .... |

Question:
I do a lot of travelling overseas and within Australia. I was wondering whether it is considered NAJIS to wash your clothes at laundry services offered in hotels (overseas or within Australia ones), or to use the public places where they have many washing machines and you insert coins to use, or dry cleaning your clothes at a shop?
Can you please give me an explanation why it IS or NOT considered najis as well?
Answer:
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيْم
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
It is permissible to use coin operated washing machines to wash one’s clothes; and impure clothes washed in such machines will become pure. This is because for impure clothes to become pure, they should be washed three times; and each time they should be wrung to remove the water. In washing machines, generally, clothes are washed and spun dry three times.
As for dry cleaning, our understanding is that they re-use the same chemical solvent in every wash by extracting and filtering it after every wash. [Wikipedia] The thing to note is that if any garment is impure in a wash, it will make the chemical solvent impure and as a result, all the other garments that it touches will also become impure. And when the same chemical solvent is used for other washes, all the clothes in those washes will also become impure. Merely filtering the chemical solvent will not make it pure. Hence, one must avoid dry cleaning.

tidak guna mufti2 memberi penerangan kpd non-muslim..mereka tetap akan berdegil sebab jiwa mereka adalah muslim-basher...
senang shj, kalau tidak suka, tak perlu pergi...malah non-muslim boleh boikot dobi ini...saya rasa tuan dobi lebih suka dobinya di boikot oleh non-muslim..kerana dia mementingkan kesucian drpd pelanggan non-muslim...
but still non muslim not happy...why? any other agendas? |
