What do you need to begin with the migration of Public Folder to Office 365?

Exchange server and Office 365 have to meet certain conditions and require minimum support versions of Exchange to move the Public Folders to Office 365. These requirements include:

Exchange 2010 should have a minimum configuration of Exchange 2010 SP3 RU8 or later
Exchange 2007 should have a minimum configuration of Exchange 2007 SP3 RU15 or later
User should be a member of Organization Management role group
User for Exchange 2010 should be a member of Organization Management or Server Management RBAC role groups
User for Exchange 2007 should be assigned an Exchange Organization Administrator role or the Exchange Server Administrator role as well as the Public Folder Administrator role and local Administrators group for the target server.
Upgrade the Exchange 2007 to Windows PowerShell 2.0 and WinRM 2.0 for Win Server2008 x 64 Edition.
Size of Public Folder should not exceed 2GB. If the size is more than 2 GB, then split it into multiple Public folders.
Number of Public folders should not exceed 1000
Move all user mailboxes before migrating Public Folders
For Legacy Exchange servers, enable Outlook Anywhere on Exchange 2010 and Exchange 2007 servers.
For Legacy Exchange servers, it is not possible to use Exchange Admin Center (EAC) or Exchange Management Console (EMC). For Exchange Online, the user requires Exchange Online PowerShell.
Understand all Keyboard shortcuts to perform and read the steps thoroughly making sure that the Exchange server meets all requirements, before starting the migration procedure.

An Analysis of manual procedure
An analysis of the manual method shows that Exchange Admins have to organize the Exchange server as per the long list of instructions, to migrate the Public Folders to Office 365 and this is quite a time taking process. In case Admin misses out on a single step then the process may not be successful.

Secondly, the long list of processes with multiple steps may pose limitations during business communications as following a long list of actions needs a proper downtime and if the process is not complete within the stipulated period, then the Outlook users may not be able to communicate appropriately.
