Selepas pelbagai industri ditekan dek kerana penularan wabak COVID-19, kini pusat beli-belah, eCurve, di Mutiara Damansara, Petaling Jaya di sini akan menutup operasi secara rasminya bermula 31 Mac ini. @501Awani
Keputusan itu menjadikan pusat beli belah itu yang pertama seumpamanya mengambil keputusan sedemikian. @501Awani
Pastinya, berita itu benar-benar menyedihkan khususnya buat mereka yang sering berkunjung ke pusat pusat gaya hidup terbuka yang ulung di negara ini. @501Awani
Menerusi laporan status yang dikongsikan melalui Facebook Malaysia Shopping Mall mendakwa, pusat membeli-belah itu bakal menamatkan operasi pada 31 Mac ini. @501Awani

Petaling Jaya’s eCurve bids farewell to shoppers on March 31

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 28 — The eCurve shopping mall in Petaling Jaya has notified tenants that it will be closing permanently effective March 31, 2021.
Tenants were served a notice regarding the mall’s closure sometime in the middle of this month.
According to a laundrette owner, Rebecca Chong, most of the tenants have started packing in preparation to shift out a week or two before the mall shuts its doors to the public.
“Some of the shops have chosen to stop operations altogether because they have not been getting customers since the MCO (movement control order) is still in effect.
“The rest are packing up, like us. We have to reinstate the lot for the mall management before we move out,” said Chong when met by Malay Mail at the mall today.
News about the mall ceasing operations started circulating yesterday on social media platforms.
However, some have conflated eCurve with the adjacent strip mall, The Curve, that is unaffected.
“It’s eCurve, not The Curve. The management met with us shortly after they served us with the letter, asking us for mutual understanding on ceasing operations of the mall.
“We understand that everyone is suffering due to the pandemic; we just have no choice but to go with it,” said Chong.
Since the Covid-19 pandemic hit Malaysia and sent the country into the unprecedented MCO, Chong said the eCurve mall management had waived rental fees for tenants for March and April.
“But after that I think they couldn’t afford to waive the rental anymore; to maintain the mall costs a lot.
“We have not been able to pay rent because businesses have really suffered, especially the cinema and the bowling centre,” she said.
For Chong, she said she pays RM4,000 in rent per month with a three-year contract.
March will be the last month her business is required to pay rent.
“It’s sad that the mall has to close; many of my friends were shocked when they heard about this, asking if it’s really true.
“Well it is, and it is very sad. We’ve been here for seven years.
“The mall is a nice weekend hangout for families, it’s sad to see it go,” she added.
Formerly known as Cineleisure Damansara, Boustead Properties Bhd took over full ownership in 2009 from Singapore’s Cathay Organisation Holdings Ltd, which previously held 50 per cent.
Subsequently it was renamed e@Curve, with the mall undergoing a rebranding exercise skewed towards more entertainment-based.

Sebelum pendemik covid pun senduu.
Tak payahla bagi alasan covid.
Salahkan management bengap yang sibuk sangat nak buat mall. Macam takda benda lain boleh buat. Cash la.harap ramai lg kapitalis bangsat ikut jejak langkah melingkup lepas ni. Terutama kapitalis bangsat yang gondol kawasan hijau dan tarah bukit utk buat perumahan/mall |

my friend staff boustead ada cerita, dulu diorg plan nak roboh E-Curve dan redevelop balik situ + refurbishment utk The Curve, yg tak pernah refurbish since opening 2004....
tapi ujung2 , boustead takde duit... nak roboh e-curve pun takde duit, apatah lagi nk refurbish The Curve tu..... by the way, open concept The Curve especially alfresco/kedai2 makan kt The Curve tu, first concept mall yg buat design camtu dlm malaysia, then slowly baru lah mall2 lain buat ikut konsep tu...
selayaknya la E-Curve ni tutup - pasal tenant mix tak menarik... dulu2 masa ada cineleisure happening tempat tu, pasal combination wayang dan entertainment, first of its kind masa tu.....

KUALA LUMPUR: Pusat beli-belah, eCurve, dilaporkan bakal menamatkan operasinya secara rasmi di Mutiara Damansara, Petaling Jaya pada penghujung Mac ini.
Menerusi laporan status yang dikongsikan melalui Facebook Malaysia Shopping Mall, eCurve dipercayai bakal menamatkan operasinya pada 31 Mac ini.
Pastinya, berita itu benar-benar menyedihkan khususnya buat mereka yang sering berkunjung ke pusat gaya hidup yang popular dalam kalangan pengunjung yang tinggal di sekitarnya.
Lapor Malaysia Shopping Mall lagi, rata-rata pemilik premis perniagaan di situ telah mendapat notis secara lisan dari pihak pengurusan pusat beli-belah berkenaan namun masih belum ada surat rasmi mengenainya.
Bagaimanapun, memetik laporan KL Foodie yang menghubungi seorang penyewa premis di pusat beli-belah itu, mereka mengesahkan kemungkinan itu.
Dalam perkembangan sama, pusat boling Ampang Surperbowl juga telah mengumumkan di laman Facebooknya tentang penutupan operasinya di situ.
Selain itu, kedai The North Face dan Bratpack juga telah mengumumkan bahawa mereka akan membuat promosi jualan perpindahan di premis mereka di eCurve.
Namun buat masa ini, tiada pengumuman rasmi dibuat pengurusan eCurve berhubung berita tersebut atau sama ada ia berbentuk sementara bagi tujuan penjenamaan semula.
Persoalan itu bakal terjawab selepas pengumuman yang dijangka dibuat oleh pengurusan eCurve mengenai rancangan jangka panjang mereka sedikit masa lagi. |
