sabtu & ahad = malam lepak kat presint 9.. ramai awek wooo
jumaat = leh dengar khutbah solat jumaat sambil tido tepi kolam (masjid besi)
isnin, rabu, khamis = leh skodeng budak2 wat maksiat kat flet hijau
malam2 jumaat = lepak kat atas jambatan.. kadang2 ade iklan bollywood

Councils often receive complaints about troublesome trees that need to be trimmed or felled. There are some who want trees preserved, citing the lack of greenery in the area. StarMetro spoke to several local councils on the type of trees planted and the public’s responsibility towards them.
Putrajaya
Putrajaya Corporation (PJC) Landscape and Parks director Mohamad A. Shukor said all the trees planted in Putrajaya since its early development in 1997 are selected based on the Putrajaya Development Master Plan and Landscape plan.
“The trees are chosen for their hardiness to survive on poor or semi-poor soil. A lot of soil improvement has taken place over 10 years to make sure the trees will grow well,” he said.
More than 700 species of rainforest trees are planted in Putrajaya to add to the biodiversity of this garden city.
“Most are chosen because of their tropical and sub-tropical origin and will mature between four and 10 years depending on the species.
“Some are planted because of their unique form to complement the different designs of buildings.
“It is also to suit the concept of sidewalks and paths.
Well-planned: Trees planted in Putrajaya are selected based on the Putrajaya Development Master Plan and Landscape plan approved by Putrajaya Corporation.
“Others, such as the Rain Tree (samanea saman) and Yellow flame (Pelthoporum pterocarpum) are planted to provide shade and improve the micro-climate of the space. This includes reducing the temperature and giving a greener look to the area,” Shukor said.
He said major tree-pruning was done yearly while maintenance pruning was carried out three to four times a year.
“This includes removal of dead, weak and affected branches.
“Sometimes, thinning of the branches has to be carried out to restore tree stability and reduce the risk of branches breaking during strong winds.
“Qualified arborists and horticulturists work on trees right from tree selection, planting, establishment, maintenance and pest control to disease management,” he said, adding that there are six arborists in Putrajaya, including himself.
He added that contractors maintaining the trees were monitored.
“If a contractor fails to meet the requirements, they will be fined. But such cases are few as we train and educate them,” he said.
Kajang Municipal Council (MPKj)
In comparison to Putrajaya, Kajang is an older town.
An arborist with the Kajang landscape department said shop owners were displeased that the trees blocked their signboards.
“They do not feel that landscaping is important and fear that the branches may get tangled with the power cables.
“As long as it is well maintained, it should not be a problem.
“They also fear that the palm trees may fall during storms but the trees are strong enough,” he said.
In the way: The Palm trees planted in Kajang town do not take up much space but some shop owners complained that these block the signboards.
He added that a wrong selection of trees were planted along the walkway outside shops in Kajang town in 1988 by the National Landscape Depart-ment.
“The Bunga Tanjung tree (Mimusops elengi) provides shade but it needs a big space for the branches and roots and the walkway does not allow ample space for it to grow.
“What we can do now is to trim it and the maintenance is quite high,” he said.
There are two heritage trees in Kajang which are more than 90 years old.
Sadly, due to the lack of knowledge, the rain trees were not properly maintained.
“Due to wrong methods of pruning, the structure is spoiled. Ten years ago, we did not have the knowledge, hence the mistake,” he said.
Near the heritage trees is a row of Yellow Flame trees with the trunks painted.
“This is wrong as the chemical destroys the tree.
Dangerous situation: The branches of an Angsana tree are touching the power cables.
“We have told the perpetrator off but it fell onto deaf ears because he felt that it is beautiful,” he said.
At one of the residential areas, the officer pointed out a tree that was poisoned.
“The trunk has decayed and it may fall onto people or cars.
“Residents can write to the council if they do not want a tree planted in front of their house but they should not resort to poisoning the trees.
He said it was important for the public to know about trees.
“We plan to distribute pamphlets to educate the public,” he added.
He added that there were only about 60 arborists in Malaysia while in Singapore there were more than 300.
Shah Alam City Council (MBSA)
According to MBSA’s landscape department, their aim is to have a green city.
There are many Angsana, Yellow Flame, Tecoma, Khaya, and rain trees in Shah Alam.
