Piala Ryder ' ibu segala gelaran ' : Poulter

LONDON : Ian Poulter yang menjadi nadi pasukan Eropah dalam tiga kempen Piala Ryder berkata, dia tidak akan menukarkan segala memori yang diraih dalam kejohanan dwitahunan itu untuk kemenangan tunggal dalam kejuaraan major.

Kapten Eropah, Jose Maria Olazabal membandingkan pemain Inggeris berusia 36 tahun itu dengan legenda, Seve Ballesteros selepas pasukannya menampilkan kebangkitan luar biasa ketika ketinggalan 10-6 untuk mencatat kemenangan 14-1/2 kepada 13-1/2 di Chicago, minggu lalu.
“ Saya tidak pernah memenangi kejuaraan major dan semua orang terus memberitahu saya yang saya tidak pernah memenangi major, ’ kata Poulter. “ Bagi saya, Piala Ryder adalah major saya dan tidak akan menukarkan memori saya atau masa saya di Piala Ryder. Trofi itu amat bermakna kepada ramai orang sepanjang tahun ini. ”


Menang 11 daripada 13 mata


Poulter mengulangi persembahan menakjubkan, memenangi 11 daripada 13 mata dalam tiga edisi sebelum ini dengan Olazabal menghamburkan pujian kepada barisan jaguh Piala Ryder Eropah.

“ Untuk apa juga sebab, kejohanan ini amat bermakna kepadanya, hidup untuknya dan saya fikir mempamer prestasi terbaik untuk dirinya, ” kata Olazabal. “ Keazamannya, fokusnya untuk menang amat hampir dengan Seve. ”

Poulter bergandingan pemain nombor satu, Rory McIlroy melakar birdie pada lima lubang terakhir menentang Jason Dufner dan Zach Johnson menghadiahkan mata berharga buat pasukan Eropah mengekalkan kejuaraan.

hai guys... i just start playing golf about 7 months ago.  but so far my game not to bad. i reckon my handicap maybe around 15 - 18 nowdays. i play every weekend with my collegues. actually last time i'm, not really interested playing golf until one of my mates ask me to play bcoz he think a hockey player like me shouldn't have a problem to play golf. he's rite. i have no problem wing my swing. start from taht day i start falling in love with golf. hee heee... for the 1st month i'm quite nervous and my distance judgement quite bad. nowdays i have no problem at all. but those who are beginner just remember, do not try to hit the ball to hard. try to hit the ball nice and easy. dont try to put your self under pressure or try to compete with your mates when they have a good hit. just play your own game and with your own style. the power will come. dont you worry. when i just started, i just can drive around 200 - 220 yards but nowdays easily can drive 260 - 290. i lke to play with my long iron. those who just started. maybe u can use your long iron (3) for tee off. get your confidence 1st. when u confidnce then start practise use ur driver. belive me. it's working for me. when i started, i just use my 3 iron and i easily can hit 180 - 200 yards. when i really confidence with my 3 iron then i started to using my driver. i'm targeting < 15 handicap end of this summer. next month our company will have inter-department tournament at westerwood golf club. last year we play at turnberry. one of the championship course. quite challenging when u play at link course like turnberry. i'm still learning, each time i go to range, i will practise my swing with my own style and try to find which one is the best. when u practise at range. do not just hit the ball. try to aim your target and start improved step by step. dont stick with one target. try to aim 5 or 6 diffrent target. but remember. do not try to hit the ball to hard. make it nice and easy. jsut try to get nice swing and good clubface contact with the ball. belive me. try it.

Simon Dyson pulls out of Turkish Open amid prospect of three-month suspension from European Tour Simon Dyson has pulled out of next week's Turkish Open as he confronts the prospect of a three-month suspension from the European Tour. Having been disqualified from last week's BMW Masters here in Shanghai after illegally tapping down a spike mark with his golf ball, the Yorkshireman has averted the embarrassment by withdrawing from the ￡4.4 million tournament in Antalya.

While Dyson denies any deliberate attempt not to include a two-stroke penalty, describing it as an "accidental mistake", he is due to face a three-man disciplinary committee next month, under the threat of a three-month ban if he is shown to have repeatedly violated the rules this year.

The 35-year-old's offence went unnoticed until television viewers alerted chief referee John Paramor. A tour expulsion is the most drastic punishment that officials could impose on the six-time tour winner, after an investigation discovered that Dyson had contravened the rule forbidding a player from touching the ground in the line of a putt.

Piala EurAsia buka lembaran baru

Shah Alam: Penganjuran Piala EurAsia yang julung kali diadakan minggu lalu membuka lembaran baru buat arena golf tempatan dan Asia. SHAH ALAM 5 SEPT: Kejohanan Golf Worldwide Holdings Selangor Masters yang menawarkan hadiah RM1.3 juta bakal berlangsung di Kelab Golf Seri Selangor pada 18 hingga 21 September ini.

Kejohanan anjuran Worldwide Holdings Berhad (WHB) dengan kerjasama Kerajaan Selangor dan Asian Tour itu tersenarai dalam Jelajah Asia dan menjadi tumpuan pemain profesional tempatan dan antarabangsa.
