CINEMA: Tale of trust, courage
By : Sharon Wong
A scene from Escape From Huang Shi.
ESCAPE FROM HUANG SHI
Directed by
Roger Spottiswoode
Starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Chow Yun-Fat, Radha Mitchell,
Michelle Yeoh
SET in war-ravaged China during the late 1930s, Escape From Huang Shi is based on true events that tell the extraordinary story of a young Englishman, George Hogg (Jonathan Rhys Meyers), and his entanglement with a war that is not even his and his ultimate bond with 60 orphaned boys.
It is a story about the true meaning of courage as he tackles thousands of perilous miles across the snow-bound Liu Pan Shan mountain in an attempt to lead the children to the safety of Sandan on the edge of the Mongolian desert.
Initially, the war in China was a stepping stone to adventure for the Oxford graduate but when he witnesses the brutal killing of men, women and children during The Rape of Nanking, his perspective and even his life, changes.
Rescued from a beheading at the hands of the ruthless Japanese played by Jack Chen (Chow Yun-Fat), it is suggested that he goes to Huang Shi to recuperate from his injuries.
Upon arrival, he learns that it is an abandoned orphanage that houses 60 traumatised boys left to their own devises.

recommended.....pada sesape yg suka filem yg berunsur kemanusiaan.....
cuma sedikit ralat sbb tajuk Escape From Huang Shi tp tak byk paparkan perjalanan pelarian dorang tu....hanya di akhir2 20minit filem...citer lebih byk berkisar tentang George Hogg & keadaan dia di rumah anak yatim tu....however still worth watching.... |
