Natural Pareidolia: 13 Faces on Trees

Is that tree staring at me? Human beings are 'hard-wired' from birth to identify human faces. This allows people to use only minimal details to recognize faces from a distance, but can also lead them to interpret random patterns of light and shade as being faces, something called Pareidolia.
This fine melan­cholic tree face was photo­graphed in or near Ottawa, Canada.
