Synopsis
The story is set in 1998 and tells the stories of youth who find new direction and growth after having their dreams taken away. Two people first meet when they are 22 and 18 years old and fall in love years later when they turn 25 and 21.
Na Hee Do (Kim Tae Ri) is a fencing athlete whose high school team was disbanded due to the IMF crisis. Although her dreams appeared to have collapsed in front of her, she forged ahead into her future without giving up. Baek Yi Jin (Nam Joo Hyuk) is the eldest son of a family that is torn apart due to the IMF crisis. Despite his difficult background, he works hard to become a reporter.
Go Yoo Rim (Bona) is a fencer who is on the national team, and the rival of Na Hee Do, who is the same age as her. Although she showcases a fierce charisma as a fencer, she turns into a cute and lovable person with a hidden steely core when she takes off her fencing uniform. Moon Ji Woong (Choi Hyun Wook) is a social media star who is aiming to become Today’s Member (a highlighted user) on Cyworld, Korea’s top social media network of the early 2000s. Ji Seung Wan (Lee Joo Myung) is the top student at school who hides a secret wish to rebel.

Na Hee Do
Kim Tae Ri plays as Na Hee Do, a fencing athlete whose high school team was disbanded due to the IMF crisis. Although her dreams appeared to have collapsed in front of her, she forges ahead into her future without giving up.
On her character, Kim Tae Ri explained, “She’s a youth who started off as someone dreaming of becoming a fencer, but she’s currently going through a slump. Nevertheless, she loves fencing so much that she’s stubbornly walking towards her dream. Normally, her personality is extremely bright, and she’s the type to run while only looking forward, but she’s also a character who is more sincere than anyone else about her dreams.”
Kim Tae Ri elaborated, “The aspect I like the most is that Hee Do is a child who always walks forward. She’s not someone who despairs after failure, her tragedies don’t end in tragedy, and she’s a strong kid who has no fear of moving forward.”
Baek Yi Jin
Nam Joo Hyuk will play the role as Baek Yi Jin, the eldest son of a family that is torn apart due to the IMF crisis. Despite his difficult background, he works hard to become a reporter. Baek Yi Jin is doing all kinds of part-time jobs from delivering newspapers to working at a book rental store.
Nam Joo Hyuk described “Twenty Five, Twenty One,” saying, “‘Twenty Five, Twenty One’ is a drama in which young people who have lost their dreams suffer and grow together. They comfort and strengthen each other. I decided to be part [of this project] because it seemed like a drama that everyone could enjoy together as they remembered those days and empathize with it, saying, ‘That’s what it was like those days.'”
Regarding Baek Yi Jin, the actor commented, “Sometimes, he makes mistakes, but if there’s something he has to do, he does it no matter what, and I really like that side [of him] the most.”
Go Yu Rim
Bona will portray Na Hee Do’s rival, 18-year-old national fencing athlete Go Yu Rim. While Go Yu Rim flaunts the charisma of a gold medal athlete, once she takes off her fencing uniform, she’s cute and lovable, being gentle in appearance but sturdy in spirit.
Regarding why she chose this drama, Bona explained, “I read the script after first hearing that Kim Tae Ri and Nam Joo Hyuk were appearing. The two matched the characters of Hee Do and Yi Jin so perfectly that I could even imagine it and I had lots of fun reading the script. Since the character of Yu Rim was so overflowing with charm, I really wanted to join ‘Twenty Five, Twenty One.'”
Bona continued, “Yu Rim is someone who only knows her family and fencing. Since the weight of her burdened heart is so heavy, she works that much harder to do her best and I really liked that about Yu Rim. I hope you watch while focusing on the gradual transformation Yu Rim experiences while meeting new friends at Taeyang High School after once carrying all her baggage by herself and pretending she was okay.”
Moon Ji Woong
Choi Hyun Wook plays Moon Ji Woong, an influencer in the late 1990s whose goal is to become “Today’s Member” on the social networking service Cyworld. As a fashion trendsetter with unique tastes, Moon Ji Woong is a whimsical character who asserts his own artistic style and has extraordinary talent in numerous fields.
Regarding his reason for starring in the show, Choi Hyun Wook shared, “I thought it would be a good experience to act in a time period that I have not experienced. I felt touched by the youthful story of the five friends.” The actor continued to share, “Ji Woong is a bright and optimistic friend, and he is talented in many areas. The aspect I like about Ji Woong is his confidence while occasionally making cheeky remarks. Since Ji Woong is particularly interested in fashion, I think it will be nice if viewers anticipate his styling, which gives off a 1998 vibe”

2) Na Hee Do lawan geng yg gaduh dgn school mate dia guna teknik fencing tapi pakai payung...
3) Baek Yi Jin explain kat Na Hee Do kenapa ada rule utk protect the minors...it make sense though...
4) Na Hee Do lukis balik & tampal comic book yg mak dia koyakkan sebelum dia pulangkan kat kedai sewa buku tu tapi kena tangkap dgn Baek Yi Jin...pastu dia explain pasal comic book tu tapi Baek Yi Jin x dpt tangkap apa yg dia cakap sebab dia cakap sambil nangis...
yg x tgk Mr. Sunshine tu maybe x kenal siapa Kim Tae Ri...
tapi kalau nak tgk camna dia berlakon tapi x minat citer ala2 historical mcm Mr. Sunshine tu blhlah tgk citer ni...

Ai dah tengok ep1 semalam. Citer ni best jugaklah. Taeri sesuai bawa watak ni sebab body dia petite. Seuaolah bawak watak budak sekolah. Bab berlakon tu ai memang takkan nafikan. Kat Mr Sunshine best je berlakon walaupun hero jauh lebih kertu. Cuma kadang2 ai susah nak lupa watak dia dalam Handmaiden tu
Klu Yi Jin ni pulak. Hmmm biasa je lah bagi ai. Macam Nam Dosan pun ada. Tapi baru ep 1. Suka gak watak Coach tu
ya dia byk berlakon filem...drama cuma Mr. Sunshine je tapi lakonan dia power...
trylah tgk 1 episod dulu...
iols skrg dah xde bias2 nak kena tgk sapa pelakon dulu..iols try tgk dulu beberapa episod, kalau best terus tgk...
sebab kalau tgk pelakon yg kita suka pun tapi cerita x best pun end up akan drop jugak in the end...

Sedih pulak dengan family Baek Yi Jin tak sangka krisis ekonomi sampai macam tu sekali eh. Terpaksa berpisah dengan family. Yi Jin baru je 22 tahun terpaksa berdikari sendiri. Masalah bapak dia, kena hadap juga
Tengok adik dia tunggu kat luar rumah tu pun, rasa sedih gak. Macam baik je adik Yi Jin ni Dah tua agaknya ai. Senang tersentuh
Suka dengan cara penulis dalam cerita ni. Nampak sangat beza pemikiran remaja 18tahun dengan 22 tahun. Ni part yang ai paling suka. Benda kecik pada mata Yi Jin, tapi pada mata Hee Do dah cukup besar. Yi Jin rindu bab memikirkan keja sekolah yang banyak. Time umo Hee Do, bab keja sekolah tu pun jadi masalah juga kan.
Satu lagi ai suka Ji Woong dengan Seung Wan th. Nak tengok lagi sejauh mana friendship diorang.

Susah nak lupa uols apa lagi part Hee Do idolakan si Yerim ni. Macam ada vibe lesbo lgbt pun ada ntahla chuols. Macam tu kot eh mengidolakan seseorang. Cara memandang tu pun teringat Handmaiden
So far masih tak faham relationship Yerim dengan Yijin. Diorang ni couple ke. Tengok preview macam Yerim suka pulak dengan Jiwoong
