Parti Pejuang Tanahair (Pejuang) mempersoalkan ‘keistimewaan’ yang diberikan kepada Presiden UMNO, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi yang dibenarkan bertemu dengan bekas Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Najib Razak selama dua jam.
Menurut Ketua Penerangan Pejuang, Rafique Rashid, tempoh maksimum lawatan banduan yang diberikan hanya 45 minit.
“Bukankah pertemuan dalam penjara dengan banduan atau orang dalam tahanan terhad kepada ahli keluarga, peguam dan/atau pihak berkuasa (polis, Imigresen, SPRM)?
“Tambahan pula bolehkah pertemuan sehingga 2 jam? Bukankah maksima adalah 45 minit? Bagaimana boleh pula buat jamuan mini dalam Penjara? Bukankah ahli keluarga hanya boleh dibenar buat demikian sewaktu perayaan?
“Bukankah kalau ahli keluarga hendak peluk salam cium pun susah dek kerana dipisahkan dengan cermin pengadang, cakap pun melalui telefon disangkut pada dinding pengadang?” soal Rafique dalam satu kenyataan, hari ini.
Rafique berkata demikian mengulas kenyataan Ahmad Zahid yang mendedahkan beliau meluangkan masa hampir dua jam dengan Najib sambil ditemani ahli Majlis Kerja Tertinggi (MKT) UMNO, Datuk Seri Dr.Shamsul Anuar Nasarah.
Ahmad Zahid berkata ketika membuat ucapan penggulungan Perhimpunan Agung UMNO (PAU) 2023 yang berlangsung minggu lalu.
Ahmad Zahid yang juga Timbalan Perdana Menteri turut menyatakan komitmen UMNO dalam memperjuangkan pembebasan Najib.
Dalam pada itu, Rafique turut mempersoalkan langkah Ahmad Zahid itu diberitahu kepada Kabinet yang dipimpin Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
“Tahukah ahli Kabinet Campuran lain mengenai pertemuan ini? Pertemuan untuk bincang mengenai Pengampunan Di Raja? Mengapa tidak serah pada Peguam sahaja? Atau ahli keluarga?” soal beliau lagi.
Rafique dalam pada itu turut mengutuskan surat kepada Menteri Dalam Negeri, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail bagi mendapatkan penjelasan berhubung isu berkenaan.
“Oleh kerana masih tiada sebarang jawapan, saya telah hari ini utus surat kepada Menteri Dalam Negeri serta juga pada Komisioner Jeneral Penjara Malaysia untuk penjelasan. Tidak guna laung slogan Madani “Bermaruah, Berilmu, Berintegriti” sekiranya sekadar retorik. Lagi sekali, apa istimewanya Zahid Hamidi?” soal beliau lagi.
