Chef Wan Letih Layan Drama Anak-Anak, Akur Bayar RM150k Kepada Bekas Menantu

Chef selebriti nombor satu negara, Chef Wan akur dan reda selepas diperintahkan untuk membayar ganti rugi sebanyak RM150,000 kepada bekas menantunya iaitu Gavin Edward O’Luanaigh berhubung penerbitan berunsur fitnah di platform media sosial.

Through a post on Instagram (IG), Chef Wan or real name Datuk Redzuawan Ismail also admitted that his way of showing the truth was wrong because he had 'attacked' his former son-in-law on social media.

"Earlier this year I was told that his (former son-in-law) appeal in the appeals court had been in his favor."

"Although I tried to prove the truth but my lawyer said that the way I 'attacked' him on social media was wrong."

"So, it's not that my story is not true. For this, I accept the court's decision."

Chef Wan added that he was grateful that his daughter, Serina Redzuawan's life was happier after separating from O'Luanaigh.

According to the 66-year-old chef, he is also tired of dealing with 'drama' involving his children's lives.

"I'm tired of enduring the weekly drama of my children and family. It's exhausting!"

"Sometimes life can be very unfair to a father-in-law who just wants to uphold the truth."

"Nevermind. The good thing is that we finally got him out of our lives and my daughter now has a much happier life. Alhamdulillah."

"To me, money is like foam in the ocean and tomorrow there will be sustenance. We work, we can get the money back. More importantly in our life, we must avoid all these dramas and irresponsible people in our life."

At the end of the broadcast, Chef Wan hopes that what happened to him will be a lesson for men, especially those who are fathers and husbands.

For info, in addition to damages worth RM150,000, Chef Wan was also ordered to pay costs for proceedings in the High Court and the Court of Appeal amounting to RM40,000.

Earlier, O'Luanaigh had filed the defamation suit in February 2021 claiming that eight posts made by his former father-in-law on social media about himself and his latest wife were defamatory.

The Shah Alam High Court partially allowed O'Luanaigh's claim for an injunction to prevent his former father-in-law from publishing any libelous and false allegations against him on 11 May 2023.

Judge Rozi Bainon also ordered Chef Wan to take down eight of the eight items that are the subject of the defamation lawsuit.

For the record, O'Luanaigh who embraced Islam on 20 November 2006 married Chef Wan's daughter who is also an actress Serina Redzuawan in 2010 before divorcing in August 2017.

Whatever, begitulah hidup manusia di pentas dunia, mcm2 kesah terjadi, ada yg bahagia, ada yg kecewa, ada perkara yg boleh diselesaikan dgn ringgit, dn mcm2 lagi. Semua itu ujian dn bahagian masing2. Sbg manusia tetap ada khilafnya. Jika khilaf itu boleh ditebus, tebuslah.

Hidup ini seiring umur yg meningkat tua, kedamaian dn ketenangan fikiran adalah hal yg paling utama. Banyak duit pun kalau hari2 dihantui dgn masalah dn hujatan pasti tak happy. Duit mcm tak berguna dn tak menjamin kebahagiaan. Andaikata duit boleh membeli kedamaian, menyahkan stress, belilah kerana duit masih boleh dicari.

150K bagi Cepone ibarat RM15 + SST gituhhh...
Cepone ni jenis mencapub kuat. Tapi jenis dont give a shit jugak. Whatever will be, will be kekdahnya.

Mungkin ada yg betul cuma tak cukup bukti je. Lg pulak Cepone yg gigih buat itu ni sedangkan Gavin berjaya buktikan bekas isteri tu yg problem. Itu yg terlepas hak jagaan anak2. Ujung2 risaukan akidah. Itulah pentingnya didikan agama sedari awal. Bukan galakkan anak tu jadi retis huha sana sini. Even masa Serina jaga anak2 pon dibiarkan gitu while sheolls sibuk mengulit cinta dgn polis tu kan. Polis tu masa tu laki orang kan. Hal2 agama, lifestyle Gavin ni patut toksah sentuh. Sebab berapa lama Gavin jadi Islam, sama bnyk tak dgn Serina yg lahir2 je Islam? Cepone pikir2 la sendiri siap yg bikin sesat.
