Keep-fit Kate shoulders arms to salute forces heroes
On a night when the courage of military heroes was saluted, the Duchess of Cambridge displayed some daring of her own – with her choice of outfit.
Fitness fanatic Kate showed off her toned muscular arms in a ￡4,000 black strapless dress by her favourite couture label, Alexander McQueen, which clung to her every curve.
To complement the stunning black velvet full-length gown with a frilled sweetheart neckline, Prince William’s wife sported a diamond-and-ruby collar-style necklace given to her as a wedding present by a mystery admirer. |

As a history of art graduate she has always had a passion for the subject.
Today the Duchess of Cambridge put her love into practice on her first public engagement as royal patron of The Art Room, which encourages confidence in disadvantaged children.
Wearing the now sold-out Birdie jacquard shirt dress by designer Orla Kiely with brown opaque tights and brown suede ankle boots, Kate, 30, was greeted on her arrival in Oxford by dozens of children waving flags and holding flowers during a short walkabout.

Kate's Orla Kiely dress sells out
The Orla Kiely dresscoat worn by the Duchess of Cambridge sold out ‘within minutes’ of her public appearance today, a spokeswoman for the label said.
As soon as the duchess was spotted wearing the brown dove-patterned garment this morning, there was an ‘absolute frenzy’ on the website.
The Birdie wool jacquard shirt dress was on sale for ￡162.50 down from ￡325.

Style on the Royal express: Duchess of Cambridge and the Queen board train on first day of Diamond Jubilee tour
The Duchess of Cambridge and the Queen gave a lesson in how to travel in style today as they kicked off the Diamond Jubilee tour of the UK.
The Royals looked a far cry from the average train commuter, causing quite a stir at St Pancras station in London.
Kate looked to the 1940's for inspiration, wearing an elegant teal peplum suit by L.K. Bennett which consisted of the ￡395 'Jude' jacket and ￡225 'Davina' dress. She wore a pillbox hat by James Lock hat.
The Queen, 85, wore a cerise cashmere dress and coat with black trim by Angela Kelly, and a matching hat by the same designer.
