Sbb di Britain gelaran Princess ...... diikuti nama pertama hanya untuk princess by birth mcm Princess Anne, Princess Beatrice. Menyalahi protokol diraja. Britain tak macam european monarchy lain, yg bila woman married to prince bergelar princess. Sophie digelarkan mengikut peeress equivalant pada peerage title yg dimiliki Prince Edward iaitu HRH Countess of Wessex. Tetapi  selepas kemangkatan Prince Phillip nanti, suami Ratu, gelaran Duke of Edinburgh akan diberikan pada Prince Edward dan Sophie akan bergelar HRH Sophie Duchess of Edinburgh.

   By British royal protocol sepatutnya Diana dipanggil dengan gelaran Princess of Wales bukan Princess Diana ( semasa masih jadi isteri charles) melainkan ada queen's decree macam Prince Phillip dan Princess Marina;Duchess of Kent.  Britain tak sama mcm country lain. Complicated sikit. Gelaran princess followed by first name stricted to those born royal sahaja.
Mnaa i rasa yg u tanya ni kalau i faham dgn betul ye? Sorry kalau salah. Mcm Diana, semasa menjadi isteri Charles adakah Diana berstatus puteri? Jawapannya ya. Tetapi by protokol dipanggil Princess Of Wales. Melainkan setelah menjadi Queen.

Thanks for the info.. saye dulu mmg ikut western royalty ni, tapi dah tak follow dah sejak prince william kawen.. tak suke ngan Kate kaedahnyerr.. but tak prasan lak ngan gelaran2 ni coz I more into monaco ngan luxembourg royalty.. thanks for your info

    Just an addition to your statement tapi bukan ke Princess Diana memang seorang princess before dia kahwin dgn Prince Charles? She is a princess but she is not a princess that is the daughter of a king nor a queen. She was the daughter of The Viscount and Viscountess of Althorp. Her father was also known as Earl Spencer. Which also qualifies her as a princess kan? So, it is not against the protocol laa basically. Besides, studies of the chronology of the family tree of the Spencers showed that compared to the Windsors, Princess Diana's family is more nobler and royal-er because her family is of a royal ancestry and they can trace back their roots straight back to the Royal House of Stuarts if I am not mistaken.

So, technically when they refer to her as Princess Diana, they weren't wrong nor went against the protocol. She is already a princess even before Prince Charles married her. And unlike her former in laws like Sarah Ferguson, Sophie countess of wessex nor even Camilla, she was born a princess not a commoner. except that she uses the title 'Lady' instead of 'Princess'.
