Actually, this is wrong. The white thread is only worn by two groups (Caste) - the Brahmins (Priest) and the Kyastrias (Warriors). Others do not required to wear them and it is sacrilige to do so.

Brahmins and Kyastrias are considered "Second-born". Which means that, the moment they finished their studies in their respective field (Brahmin finishes his Veda studies and Kyastrias finish learning the Art of War), their lives are devoted toward serving the Gods and the Society in general. They do not expected to have attachment to Worldly possession (if one is a Brahmin) nor to one's own life (if one is a Kyastria). They are expected to live and die for their society. That is the true meaning of Second-Born.

However, today the meaning is lost. Westerners have introduced their own foolish belief that everyone is Equal (which I do not believe) and therefore, many who wears this thread have nothing to do of being Second-born. They are just hypocrites who lives like parasite - for their own selfish needs and their families' needs.

Actually u r referring ur own perception towards this matter. Caste is meant to be the job of certain community as their work. Last time only Brahmins hv the chance to chant vedhas because the were the only caste who has been allowed for and they r educated. But now, caste is different as everyone built up their life with educations and also aagama and spiritual knowledge. Thus the situation is acceptable. Poonol can be wear for such rituals but the proper way must be followed, other than that no problem for normal ordinary person being worn with white thread.

And WHERE did you get information stating that only Brahmins are allowed to chant Vedas?

In many examples in Puranas, there exists people from different caste which learn and chant Vedas. Sage Vyasa (who narrated Mahabratha Epic - to Lord Ganesha) for example was a son of a Sage (father) and a fisherman's daughter. He has been recognised as a Brahmin despite of the mixed heritage and contributed to the Santana Dharma.

So explain where in Hinduism does it stop any other Caste from learning and chanting Vedas? Do you assume that the Gods will have problem hearing or receiving the prayers if it is done by non-Brahmin?

In man ...

No, i didnt mean that way, but it was what being done to the low caste people. Mostly by Brahmins but God proved that He is for everyone beyond Caste. I m saying about the people, not about Puranas. Vedham is for all of us...but it was being taught only for Brahmins at that era.

It seems that you are referring to your own perception of what Brahmins are. Unless you can qoute Vedas or Puranas which stated that only Brahmins are allowed to learn about the Vedas.
