JDT bakal ambil alih Frenz United

Ahad, 10 Januari 2016 @ 6:31 PM

Perkembangan baharu berkenaan diumumkan oleh pemilik kelab JDT, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim menerusi akaun Facebook rasmi kelab berkenaan, Johor Southern Tigers, sebentar tadi.

Mengapa kami lakukannya ? Semua kerana permainan gila dipanggil BOLASEPAK dan cinta untuknya. Adakah kami akan melakukannya sekali lagi ??? Sudah pasti . Kami akan Kembali.

Why Frenz is taking a break from Malaysian Soccer by the end of the year ?

1. After 5 years of Frenz United Football Academy in operation, FAM still does not have a Youth league for players U15 & U17 which is open to all clubs and academies. KPM won't allow academies to join their league. NFDP allowed us to join their tournament this year but unfortunately, it is a very badly managed third tier tournament and a waste of time for professional academies in terms of investment. As such, it is quite pointless to have an academy when you don't even have a proper local youth league for the players in the country.

2. Privatisation of Malaysian League has not happened. It is impossible for private clubs like Frenz to compete in the Malaysian League. Out of the 24 teams in the Super and Premier League, 15 are State FA’s and its affiliates, 3 GLC's, 2 government institutions, 1 public university and only 3 private teams where 2 are from JDT FC and 1 Pahang FC. Clubs like Frenz will not be able to compete with FA's as they are able to use public funds and resources and thus create an unfair playing field. FA's should not be allowed to operate as private clubs. It is against FIFA rules.

3. The implementation of clubs to have their own academies in order to compete in the Malaysian league has not happened. Only Frenz and JDT have invested in a youth system and an academy. Other clubs are still relying on the Sports School and NFDP for their future players. This must not be allowed as these National Football Plans cost tax payers hundreds of millions of ringgit every year and lifts the burden from the clubs to invest and develop their own players. Private academies like Frenz cannot compete in terms of financial resources with these free Development Plans, as they can even afford to lose a 100 million ringgit but would still be able to continue.

4. The current financial downturn in this country is also having a big impact on our Budget to continue running our Football academy. It is not only us who are facing a problem, but many sectors in this country. The ecosystem in Malaysian football needs a major revamp towards privatisation for private clubs and academies to survive even in a downturn. Frenz are only one of very few people or clubs who can proudly say that we have invested our own money for Football in this country to the tune of millions of ringgit. It doesn't matter if you are a supporter, lover, businessman or politician, what matters is if you want to manage a Football club or academy, please use your own money and only then will you be accountable even if you fail. Unfortunately in Malaysia, everybody wants to manage a Football club but none will put their money where their mouth is. Although we are taking a break from Football at the moment, we are pretty sure that we will be back in the near future when times are better and hopefully when Malaysian Football has really been privatised. At the moment, it does not make sense to continue in the current ecosystem.

5. So do we regret? We have spent more than RM30 million in the last five years to try and help develop Malaysian Football... And it has been the best times of our lives. Have we made mistakes? Everybody makes mistake and we are sorry for any inconveniences caused and we will learn from it. Why we dId it? All because of a crazy game called FOOTBALL and the LOVE for it. Will we do it again??? Definitely. We will be Back.
