SAMSUNG GALAXY S4 MINI AT RM1,499.00

Now that the Samsung Galaxy S IV is official, what is the next Samsung smartphone you can look forward to? The Samsung Galaxy S IV mini of course! Last week, Sammobile got their hands on images of the purported Galaxy S IV mini device (I9190), which sports the exact same design as the S IV (S4), only in a smaller size of 4.3”.

A Twitter user, st7761, spotted the I9190 model number on Samsung’s official support page along with 3 other I919x devices. As always, the devices have been removed from the page, but it is believed that I9192 is a dual-SIM version of the S4 mini while I9195 is the LTE variant, and last but not least a China version, the I9198.

It looks like the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini that is rumored to be announced later this month may actually be the real deal. A Weibo user, PunkPanda, recently posted a pretty large collection of pictures of the said device. Looking almost identical to its big brother in terms of design, the Galaxy S4, the mini comes in a smaller frame measuring approximately 13cm x 6cm.

No further details have been revealed yet like the pricing and availability but according to previous rumors, the Galaxy S4 mini will pack a 4.3” display, be powered by a dual-core processor and will run on Android 4.2.2 out of the box.

The Galaxy S4 mini is a persistent rumour and judging by Samsung’s propensity to churn out devices that are variants of variants of variants, the S4 mini is looking very plausible considering Samsung makes the Galaxy S III mini with a 4.0-inch Super AMOLED display (800×480) and a 1GHz dual-core NovaThor processor that’s selling for a Ringgit under RM1,000 right now.

In any case here’s the latest batch of images that, by the looks of it, is a smaller version of the Galaxy S4. Popular speculated specs include Android 4.2.2, a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED qHD display (960×540, 256ppi), a 1.6GHz dual-core processor and even possible a dual-SIM variant. Expect the S4 Mini (or GT-i9190) is likely to carry some of the “smart” features from the Galaxy S4.

If the rumour does hold water then you’re looking at a pretty decent mid-range device — provided that the price is right.
