Firefly ‘cheaper than taxi fare’- lawan AirAsia

PETALING JAYA: Want to fly anywhere in the peninsula for less than a cost of a taxi fare to KL International Airport?
You can buy a one-way ticket starting from RM49 to destinations in the peninsula courtesy of Firefly.
The airline is offering half a million tickets in its “Everyday Low Fare” campaign for an indefinite period, which kicked off on Monday.
Firefly chief executive officer Ignatius Ong said the airline had seen a 300% to 400% spike in bookings since Monday.
The promotion will also be extended to other destinations.
Customers only pay RM99 to book a one-way flight to Singapore and other popular destinations in Indonesia such as Batam, Pekan Baru, Medan and Acheh.
Flying to Phuket or Koh Samui in Thailand will cost RM149 for a one-way ticket from Penang and RM249 from Subang.
To take advantage of the offer by Firefly, travellers are advised to book their low price tickets at least a month in advance before travelling.
There is one caveat though, there cannot be any cancellations, refunds or changes.
Ong also encouraged travellers to buy travel insurance at RM12 and RM25 for a one-way travel for domestic and international flights respectively.
As a “sweetener”, 60 travellers who book their tickets between May 13 and June 12 together with travel insurance will stand a chance to win an Apple iPad mini each.
The six-year-old airline has also struck a deal with its parent, Malay-sia Airlines, to allow travellers to collect points via the Enrich programme.
Ong said the airline had also enhanced its website so that travellers would be able to check on the availability and fares over a period of a month, thereby giving travellers the flexibility to choose the best rates for travel.
More packages including for “excursions” are expected to be launched in the coming weeks.
Firefly served 1.6 million passengers last year. It aims to carry 1.8 million passengers this year and around two million by June 2014.

tak boleh lawanla AA.. AA kalau offer sama dgn harga bas ekspress.. firefly ni naik Fokker kapal terbang kecik..kena cuaca buruk mmg sgt horror perjalanan tu.. aku naik flight fokker/ATR ni kalau dah takde pilihan lain.. esp laluan MASwings..

tulah pasal.. takleh lawan AA punya offer..

aku pernah pi Hangzhou (Shanghai) naik Air Asia X RM250 return.. giler tak?
this year pi Surabaya Jan haritu (less then RM150 return)..
April haritu pi Joga (less then Rm150 return)
Hujung bulan ni nak ke Yangon (RM160 return)..

Last year aku pi Koh Samui pun aku tknak naik FF...FF dah offer pun dari SBZ ke Samui RM249 ONE WAY..tu dah habis offer tu..
aku rela naik AA ke Surat Thani n naik bas/feri ke Samui.. dapatla explore sekali area Surat Thani..dan of coz tambangnya less then RM150 return...budget yg lebih tu boleh duk hotel yg best2 tepi laut..
