Robin Van Persie Meets Heartbroken Young Man United Fan Louis Diamond
Fenerbahce arranged a touching get together between Robin Van Persie and the family of the little boy who went viral for sobbing over the departure of his ex Man United hero.
Young Louis Diamond was flown out with his family to Istanbul to meet Fenerbahce's new talisman after footage of the youngster weeping over his Dutch hero's exit made the Internet breathe one collective heartbroken sigh.
Diamond's family must have been shocked when, just a month after posting a video of their son crying about a high profile transfer, they were introduced to the man himself, courtesy of Fenerbahce fans who organized a campaign to fund a trip to Istanbul for the family.
Eventually, the campaign caught the attention of Fenerbahce president Aziz Yildirim, who decided to invite the family out while board member Ilhan Eksioglu surprised the Diamonds with a five day holiday in Antalya.
Van Persie wrote on his official Twitter account: "What a nice surprise! Louis Diamond came all the way from the UK to Istanbul to meet me and watch our match last night.
