A Russian plane originating from Moscow has crashed at the airport in Kazan, reportedly killing all 50 people on board.

A spokeswoman for the Emergencies Ministry, Irina Rossius, said there were 44 passengers and six crew members aboard.

Tatarstan Airlines flight 363 originated from Moscow's Domodedovo airport and was due to land in Kazan.

The plane, a Boeing 737, was reportedly on its second landing attempt when it crashed and caught fire. According to Russian news agencies, the plane's nose hit the runway during the attempted landing.

Witnesses reported a blast as the plane landed.

According to Russian news agency RIA Novosti, Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered the government to establish a commission to investigate the crash.

A spokesman for Federal Air Transport Agency Rosaviatsiya told RIA Novosti the pilot tried to perform a go-around after an aborted landing, and the plane crashed. The Kazan airport was closed following the fatal crash.

Russia has had a series of deadly plane crashes in recent years. In December a Russian-made Tupolev plane veered off the end of Moscow's Vnukovo airport and slammed into the slope of a nearby highway. Five people were killed in that crash

In 2011 a plane crash in Yaroslavl killed 44 people, including an entire professional hockey team. Russian investigators have found that pilots who were involved in two recent airplane crashes that killed 10 and 47 people were intoxicated during the flight.

MOSCOW (Reuters) - A son of the president of Russia's oil-rich region of Tatarstan was named among a list of 50 people killed aboard a Boeing 737 plane that crashed in the region's capital on Sunday.

Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov's son, Irek, was on the flight from Moscow to Kazan, according to a passenger list posted news websites whose authenticity was confirmed by the regional government.

The Tatarstan Airlines plane was trying to abort its landing in order to make a second approach, but it exploded on hitting the runway, killing all 44 passengers and six crew on board, emergency officials said.

samala ngan aku...naik je terus keras..dup dap jantung, lagi2 dekat wing..bunyi injin yg kuat mcm nk meletop..mcm2 duk pikir, pastu naik je gegar langgar awan..uiiiii seriau tul. darah gemuruh aku ni..

penah dulu naik foker tiap kali naik memg berpeluh2 tangan...pastu duk pegang seat, stu hari tu sebelah aku ada sorg footballer ikut team manatah dia duduk sebelah aku, muka aku keras je..last2 dia tegur..haiii...takut sangat ke naik kapaterbang? aku haa
dia rilek2 je sengih2 tengok aku ketakutan..sampai lupa lak aku nak bekenalan

haa la..sepenakut aku ni ..ni aku nak bgitau, mcm2 jenis ketegori kapatebang aku naik paling bahye cesna..mcm naik bot ko..dup2 bunyik injin..kejap rendah jap tinggi..pastu heli ok..laju mcm duk dlm cable car je..nuri tudm ok..tapi tkde seat yg proper tkde rasa mcm naik flight..airbus..flight biasa tu semua aku tetap rasa gugup yg melampau..

masa naik cesna aku buat2 tidur, sebab tengok mcm nk cecah laut..matila akutiba2 pilot kata dca tk bagi landing kt airport penang terpaksa patah blik ke lgkw..nasib baik minyak penuh kta pilot kalu tak mau kita landing lauttu je skali aku naik tu pun tumpang member pilot tgh training...

Ko kira brani le tuh..kalo aku harus aku dh meraung... tp maybe tuntutkan keje ko yg perlu ko kesana sini naik segala mcm airplane tu.. ekekekeke
