Azmin urges Khalid to revoke dismissal letters of PKNS staff

KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 7, 2014): Parti Keadilan Rakyat deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali has lambasted PKNS Holdings Sdn Bhd (PHSB) for what he described as irresponsible action over its sacking of 23 employees.

Urging PHSB to revoke their dismissal letters, he claimed that the action under the orders of Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim (pix) was not only a violation of employment laws but also grossly inhumane.

"It is completely against the principles espoused by the Pakatan Rakyat Government of Selangor that all employees must be treated with dignity and compassion.

"While the sudden dismissal is harsh and will cause great financial loss to the employees, a severance pay of two months' salary only adds insult to injury," he said in a statement here today.

Mohamed Azmin also demanded that Abdul Khalid cease using PKNS as a personal weapon against the menteri besar's perceived political rivals.

On Feb 5, the 23 employees were reportedly terminated without warning, effective immediately, and given a two-month salary as compensation. Due to that shocking move, PHSB general manager Noor Hisham Mohd Ghouth was said to have tendered his resignation as a sign of protest.

Although Abdul Khalid initially claimed he was not responsible for the decision, he later confirmed the termination as a corporate move to restructure the PKNS management, as well as to reduce operational costs, which he claimed could save as much as RM7 million a year.

Prior to this, PKNS came under the limelight when the administration decided not to continue Mohamed Azmin's service as member of the board of directors. This had further sparked the rumour that the long-rivalry between Mohamed Azmin and Abdul Khalid was far from over.

It was also noted that due to the issue, former PKNS general manager Datuk Othman Omar and executive secretary Norita Abdul Sidek were immediately transferred to another department as a form of disciplinary action. – Bernama

azmin ni pandai betol bebuat kenkunun bermusuh dengan khalid. Dengan cara ini UMNO akan tertipu mereka ingat PKR berantakan. Lepas tu UMNO akan lalai.. time tu la Mahader jatuhkan Najib. Bijak betol strategi PKR ni.. orang selangor juga yg untung.

tak payah pura2 pun umno mmg sentiasa lalai dan bongok...aku sgt2 berharap mader butul jatuhkan si ajib ngong tu...
