Junghans | Germany . Since 1861
A fascination with time measurement has been our driving force for 153 years. Schramberg in the Black Forest is
the birthplace of watches bearing the “Made in Germany” label, a statement we see not only as a declaration of
their origin but also of our commitment to you. At Junghans, each watch takes on its own identity, right from the
very first pencil stroke on paper, through the design of the individual components up to the assembly, accompanied
by quality assurance checks. Whether you choose a mechanical timepiece or prefer modern technologies, radiocontrolled
or quartz – a “Junghans” owes a great deal of its character to its place of origin, Schramberg. A long and
rich history has forged the Junghans name into a strong traditional brand with immense charisma, giving us every
confidence for the future of the German watch.
Horological masterpieces (Meister Series) - Full Catalog click here
Masterpieces come into being when technical achievements take on aesthetic form. This close relationship
between technology and aesthetics was recognized by Junghans at a very early stage and led to the company’s
unique design culture. The Junghans watches of the 1930s to the 1960s created by product designer Anton Ziegler
demonstrate this most impressively. Anton Ziegler shaped the appearance of Junghans watches over many
decades. The current Meister line is based on the historic design for the Meister watches of this era and makes
a clear statement about the classic mechanical horology at Junghans. Its characteristic design simultaneously
reflects both the past and the present of the brand. This explains the fascination exerted by the Meister right
up to the present day.
Architect of time (max bill Series) - Full Catalog click here
Max Bill was one of the most unusual artists of our time. Acknowledged as a universal genius, he worked as
an architect, painter, sculptor and product designer and has left behind an extensive portfolio of creations. This
includes one of the most fascinating watch series ever designed – the clocks and wristwatches he created for
Junghans – and which remain practically unchanged today. As a Bauhaus student of Walter Gropius, he intuitively
understood how to apply the pursuit of constructive clarity and precise proportions to his work. His unrivalled
drive to create is also seen in the field of education. He was not only the co-founder and first rector of the Ulm
College of Design (Hochschule für Gestaltung – HfG), but the school building is also a Max Bill original design.
