Dr M gets royal rebuke for ‘twisting facts’ about Salleh ouster

A Johor prince says the ex-PM used his father, not the other way round.
PETALING JAYA: A Johor prince has accused former prime minister Mahathir Mohamad of twisting the facts about the 1988 sacking of the Lord President of the Supreme Court, Salleh Abas.
It was Mahathir who used the late Johor ruler, Sultan Iskandar, to oust Salleh, and not the other way round as claimed by the former PM, said Tunku Abdul Majid Iskandar, a son of the late sultan and currently the Tunku Bendahara of Johor.
Sultan Iskandar was at the time the Yang diPertuan Agong.
Tunku Abdul Majid was contesting Mahathir’s statement last Saturday that he had to take the blame for Salleh’s sacking even though it was the late sultan who wanted the Lord President removed.
Mahathir claimed Sultan Ibrahim was annoyed by a letter that Salleh had written to him, in which the Lord President complained about the noise caused by renovation works at Istana Johor on Jalan Kia Peng, Kuala Lumpur.
“Mahathir, please don’t blame people who can’t defend themselves anymore,” Tunku Abdul Majid said in a Facebook posting.
“Mahathir used my father to remove Tun Salleh, period,” he said. “Tun Salleh is a good man and my father acknowledged that. He has already made his peace with Tun Salleh.”
Tunku Abdul Majid’s sister, Tunku Azizah Aminah, in a Facebook dialogue with her brother, implied that Sultan Iskandar had good relations with Salleh.
“My father bought his house in Jalan Damai when he had financial problems,” she said. “This story has truly been manipulated.”
She said the noise that Salleh allegedly complained about did not come from Istana Johor, but from the piling works for the Conlay Court Apartments. Istana Johor was also disturbed by the noise, she added.
Responding to his sister, Tunku Abdul Majid said, “The point is it was never about any renovation work like Mahathir said.”

dr mahathir retired tahun 2003. time tu internet masih guna single router streamyx.laju sangat xde la. 1mb. kadang kadang lampu dsl blinking.putus ssekejap.wireless agak mahal dan dijual berasingan
