Claire Farrell, salah seorang wanita yang berkelakuan rasis dengan kencing di hadapan sekeluarga Islam yang sedang solat di sebuah taman.

DUA wanita dari Britain yang bersikap rasis dengan membuang air kecil di hadapan keluarga Muslim yang sedang bersolat di sebuah taman, akan dipenjara berhubung kesalahan tersebut.

Natalie Richardson, 32, dan Claire Farrell, 36, duduk mencangkung di hadapan satu keluarga Syria ketika mereka sedang bersolat, baru-baru ini.

Sambil kencing, mereka didakwa turut mengeluarkan kata-kata makian berunsur perkauman. Kedua-dua tertuduh juga bertindak menghalang orang awam daripada mempertahankan keluarga Islam tersebut.

Hakim Mahkamah Plymouth Crown menyifatkan perbuatan mereka sebagai keterlaluan dan menjijikkan.

Two racist mums who urinated in front of a Muslim family as they prayed in a park have walked free from court.

Drunken friends Natalie Richardson, 32, and Claire Farrell, 36, pulled down their underwear and squatted within metres of the Syrians while shouting racist abuse.

The shocking incident happened in front of the Muslim family's son and daughter, aged eight and ten, and six children who were with the racism mums.

Richardson even pushed a bystander in the chest when he tried to intervene in the incident on a quiet Sunday afternoon.

Despite describing their behaviour as "disgusting", a judge imposed only suspended sentences on the pair at Plymouth Crown Court in Devon.

Recorder John Trevaskis said: "Nobody in civilised society could see your behaviour in any way justified or acceptable, not in the multi-cultural society in which we live.

"I describe it as disgusting."

Edward Bailey, prosecuting, described how the incident unfolded in Central Park, Plymouth, Devon, on Sunday August 16.

The Muslim family are from Syria but have lived in the city for many years, with the mother, 38, working as a teacher and the father, 46, employed in a surgery, he said.

They prayed in the direction of Mecca five times a day, including a silent afternoon session which involved repeatedly standing and kneeling for three minutes.

Mr Bailey said they began this prayer as they picnicked near the play area in the park at about 6pm.

Farrell and Richardson were nearby with six children ranging from a baby to young teenagers and witness Wesley Smith overheard them shouting abuse.

Mr Bailey said: "He overheard these two defendants say: 'If those Muslim c***s start to pray I am going to piss in front of them'."

He added that Farrell shouted out: "Not in Plymouth".

Mr Bailey said: "Both defendants, holding bottles of beer, ran up the hill towards the victims, stopped some two to three metres away and proceeded to pull down their lower clothing, squatted down in front of the couple and urinated in front of them while making desultory comments."

The Muslim couple's daughter burst into tears and when Mr Smith, 28, tried to intervene Richardson shoved him hard in the chest with both hands.

Reading a statement from the mother, Mr Bailey said: "I found it particularly shocking was how these women displayed such offensive behaviour to people who were praying.

"A lot of horrific things have happened in the name of Islam which we do not condone at all. A lot of people are branding us the same as terrorists.

"This incident just served to increase the fears for both myself and my children."

Will Willden, mitigating for Richardson, said: "In almost every paragraph of her probation report she emphasises her apologies and her shame but also the hurt that she acknowledges her appalling behaviour caused on that day."

All Rafati, for Farrell, said she had been a "drinker" since she was 14 and felt shame for an offence which was out of character.

Farrell, of Stonehouse, Plymouth, and Richardson, of Devonport, Plymouth, both pleaded guilty to religiously-aggravated threatening and abusive behaviour causing harassment.

Richardson also admitted the common assault of witness Wesley Smith.

Recorder Trevaskis handed each woman a six-month jail term but suspended them for 12 months.

They will each have to work with probation and pay ￡300 towards prosecution costs.

The judge praised the public spirit of Mr Smith, a former serviceman, for intervening during the incident.
