First Meeting of the KFA Power Enhancement Committee… Chairman Jeong Hae-sung's Briefing

Appointment of a formal coach instead of a temporary coach... Expected to be appointed in March

Guidelines have been drawn to select a successor to former national soccer coach Jurgen Klinsmann. Both domestic and foreign coaches will consider him as candidates, but they have decided to put more emphasis on domestic coaches.

The Korea Football Association held a closed-door meeting of the first power reinforcement committee at the soccer center in central Seoul on Monday morning to discuss the matter. The details were disclosed through a briefing at 4 p.m. on the day.

The briefing was explained directly by Jung Hae-sung, the new chairman of the committee, who was appointed to replace Michael Mueller Germany, who stepped down with former coach Klinsmann, who was dismissed after being eliminated from the semifinals at the Asian Cup.

Chairman Chung revealed eight requirements, saying, "We discussed the qualities and requirements of the coach of the Korean national soccer team through today's meeting."

The eight requirements he explained were the justification for fostering a tactical competency team, career communication skills, leadership, coaching staff composition, and performance.

He also revealed that he decided to appoint a formal coach from March rather than a temporary coach system.

"We heard various opinions. The majority of the respondents said that the coach should be officially elected this time rather than a temporary system," Chung said.

When asked whether he was a domestic or foreign coach, he replied, "The committee agreed to prepare with both domestic and foreign countries open."

"Considering the time to identify the players before the A-match in March, foreign coaches were also open as candidates, but we discussed whether we should focus on domestic coaches," he added.

Earlier, only nine out of a total of 11 members of the Power Enhancement Committee attended the meeting.

With Chung as the center, the committee is composed of 10 members, including Kimpo FC coach Ko Jung-woon, Sungsil University coach Park Sung-bae, commentator Park Joo-ho, former Gwangju FC senior coach Song Myung-won, Sejong Sports Toto coach Yoon Deok-yeo, Gangwon FC coach Yoon Jung-hwan, Moon Kyung-moo, QMIT CEO Lee Sang-ki, former Vietnam national team coach Lee Young-jin, and Jeon Kyung-joon, technical chairman of the professional soccer federation.  토토
