EgyptAir crash: Plane 'made sharp turns before plunge'

An EgyptAir flight from Paris to Cairo made two sharp turns before plunging into the Mediterranean Sea, Greece's defence minister says.

Panos Kammenos said the Airbus A320 had "turned 90 degrees left and then a 360-degree turn to the right".
It then dropped more than 25,000ft (7,620m) before disappearing from radar, he added.

Egypt's civil aviation minister has said the possibility of a terror attack is stronger than technical failure.

Possible debris from missing EgyptAir plane found southeast of Crete

A Greek military ship searching for the debris from the EgyptAir flight, which went missing over the southern Mediterranean, has found two floating objects close to where the plane disappeared.

"There have been finds south-east of Crete, inside the Cairo flight information region," Greek army general staff spokesman Vassilis Beletsiotis told AFP.

The objects were plastic and colored red and white, Reuters reported earlier, citing defense sources. They were spotted some 370 km south of the Greek island of Crete, close to the spot where a transponder signal was emitted earlier.

Another Greek military official told AP that an Egyptian search plane also spotted two orange items in the same area. One of the items was oblong, the official said.

Greek state TV ERT also reported that two "orange-colored" objects were located in the same area and said they were lifejackets from the missing aircraft.

EgyptAir Flight 804 went missing early Thursday morning as it was en route from Paris to Cairo with 56 passengers and 10 crewmembers on board. The Airbus A320 disappeared just as it was flying from an area under Greek air traffic control to the Egyptian Flight Information Region.

Egypt, France and Greece deployed military aircraft and ships for a search operation in the area.

Investigators say no possible cause of the disaster can be ruled out yet, but the lack of a distress call from the plane indicates a possible bombing attack or a major technological failure that destroyed the aircraft in a matter of seconds.

Kan dan... Sharp turn tu kira m konar baring.  Then disappearing. Sama mcm mh.  Takde distress.

(CNN)EgyptAir Flight 804 from Paris to Cairo disappeared from radar over the Mediterranean Sea with 66 people on board early Thursday. Here's what we know so far:
• Greek controllers tried to reach the Airbus A320 when it crossed through Greek airspace but got no response.
• When the plane reached Cairo airspace, it swerved sharply then plunged from 37,000 feet into the Mediterranean, Greece says.
• A distress signal was detected in the vicinity where the flight disappeared from radar 2 hours later, but it could have come from another vessel.
• The cause behind the disappearance is more likely terrorism than a technical issue, Egypt's civil aviation minister says.
