saye ni student nurse..
so waktu praktikal @ keje kat wad saye ader byk mende yg nak tanyer tp x tau nak tanye sape..
kalu tanyer kat staff nurse nnt dier pun kate sy pun lupe r dik..
nak tanye kat doc segan la plak
so harap2 kat sini ader la doc2,staff nurse @ ahli paramedik lain yg boleh jwb kemusykilan saye..

soalan pertama,knp waktu nak kembangkan belon dlm cbd kiter kena guna water for injection..
bukan normal saline @ d5% ke...

pas tu...apa beza voluven,gelafundin ngan hartman??

...ok...with regards to indwelling catheter nie...some institutions menggunakan normal saline to balloon up the catheter...some menggunakan water for injection (sterile water) and some even menggunakan chlorhexidine solution...serious...nie aku pernah come across kat one of the hospitals here...tapi...dext 5% memang blom pernah aku dengar digunakan for such purpose...so far...aku tak pernah plak jumpa dext 5% which comes in a 10cc or 20cc preparation...unlike normal saline dan sterile water yang terdapat in such preparations...in my work area...dext 5% only comes (being supplied as) in a bottle of 500cc...it would definitely a wastage kalau we use dext 5% for catheterization kerana we only require the most 30cc to fill up the catheter balloon...ok...the amount of solution required to fill up the balloon will depend on the catheter size...and the amount required usually is stated at the catheter itself...cuba belek2 the catheter and u will see this info...ianya tertera bersama2 the size of the catheter...

...personally...aku tak suka menggunakan normal saline kerana it contains salt...which has the potential to become crystallized with time...and this can affect the durability of the catheter...the catheter...when it has been filled with the saline solution becomes stretched and thin...and...the crystallized salt particles from the saline solution can cause friction to its thin surface and eventually causing it to rupture or leak...sterile water on the other hand does not contain any sodium...so...durability is less likely compromised...

...voluven...gelafundin and hartmans solution nie are all priming solutions...and priming solutions bley diklasified kan into 2 categories -

sy ni bukan jenis pemalu n sy ni mmg suke bertanye..
tp time kat wad tu tgk doc pun sibuk,staff nurse pun sibuk.
jd terbantut nak tanyer.

kdg2 jawapan yg dapat terlalu ringkas xpun diorg akan cakap awak x perlu tahu..
kang tanyer lebih2 kang elok2 org suke jd x suker
