PT DIRGANTARA indonesia help MALAYSIAN COMPANY produce commercial jet

Other than N-219 light carrier with 19 passenger capacity of latest project of Indonesian Indigenous aircraft industry. Actually since early 2005 , Indonesian Aerospace company (PT DI) also working on designing small personal jet with 6 passengers coded NMX-1, the development of the aircraft twin the personal jet had a capacity of six passengers (very light the jet) was begun.
The motivator is the investor from Malaysia, Aeronimbus First capital that given by Aeronimbus to Indonesian Aerospace company (PT DI) reached $50 million US dollar.

Apart from news from PT Di website I could not get further info how this project evolving. If this project really going to happened and not being canceled, the prototype of this jet would be released at the end of 2006 or beginning 2007, Indonesian people indigenously in this case Indonesian Aerospace company would be among the first company who could design and manufacture indigenously personal aircraft jet in Asia. Superiorrr!

PT DIRGANTARA INDONESIA DESIGN NEW COMMERCIAL JET
PT Dirgantara and its counterpart Aero Nimbus Aircraft Sdn Bhd of Malaysia will develop the first commercial jet in Asia. The so-called NMX jet will have the capacity for 6 passanger will be designed by PT Dirgantara Indonesia and targeted by the end of 2006 the first prototype will enter its flight test programe. The first serial productions will start in 2007, its main market is through-out the Asian countries.

President Director of PT Dirgantara Indonesia, Edwin Soedarmo, after signing the master agreement documents with Aero Nimbus Chief Executive Director, Y.C. Ma on the 7th January explained that PT Dirgantara Indonesia will design and built the prototype, productions of detail parts will also be done in Bandung, while the final assembly and certifications process will be done at the Aero Nimbus plant in Malaysia. First flight is projected by the end of 2006, followed by productions line in 2007. He also said that "designing aircraft for other industry is a new business for PT Dirgantara Indonesia".

According to Edwin, the contract to design and produce the new jet aircraft with twin engines and 16 meters in length, and the ability to operate within medium range distance and having STOL capability valued at 50 million US dollar. He said this aircraft could fly direct flight from Kualalumpur-Hongkong in 3 hours, using only 800 meters of runway for take-off and landing. Estimated price will be around 2.2 - 2.5 million US dollar.

Meanwhile, YC Ma added that he planned to produce 36 aircraft a year in out of 3 plants. This aircraft has caught up big interest by other countries and the marketing is focussed through-out Asian countries such as China, Thailand, Cambodia, Indochina and the middle east region.

Sorry to say, this project is not going anywhere...no funding and...lets just say ....mismanagement  to the highest level.....

....how do I know ?..coz i worked on this project before....was a good concept ....there was even talk of producing a military survellance version....it was suppose to be in the market in 2008-2009....the same class as the Eclipse 500, Cessna Mustang  and Honda Jet ...this category is called VLJ (very light jet) ..designed as a low cost jet that everybody can have and fly...

..btw, FYI... Eclipse Aviation is funded by former and present top Microsoft people  inlcudingBill Gates.....you will hear much of this jet a lot....
