Kim, Jeong-Hoon (Korean: 김정훈 Hanja: 金楨勳, born January 20, 1980) is a South Korean singer and actor. He initially rose to fame as a member of Korean duo UN debuting with the single Voice Mail in 1999. After the duo disbanded in 2005, he enjoyed success as an actor starring in Goong, a drama based on comic book of the same name.
Career
Initially pursuing a career in dentistry, he debuted as a member of Korean duo UN in 1999, an acronym for "United N-generation." After six years of success, the duo officially announced that they are disbanding in September 2005, and Kim announced that he was going to pursue an acting career instead. [1] He had stated that considering the conditions of the Korean music industry prevented him from pursuing music he truly wanted to do. By 2005 he had already begun starring in Korean dramas, such as sitcom Orange and 남과 여 (A Man and a Woman) in 2004. He had said his final dream is to become a renowned movie director.
Education
Kim also became famous for his academic performance when his high school report cards have revealed that he received A's in every subject thus making him the top of his class and also among the peers in his grade.[3] In 1998, he was accepted to prestigious Seoul National University where he studied dentistry. However, he dropped out in 2003 when he determined that dentistry would not help him in his career.[4] This led to controversy as some disputed his account and claimed that he was expelled by the University for maintaining a low GPA.[5] He is now a senior in Chung-Ang University where he majors Japanese language and acting. He has said he wants to attend art school to improve his acting.

2/2/07 KIM JEONG HOON CAST AS A BAD GUY IN THE NEW DRAMA
Kim Jung-Hoon, who decided to stop his studies at Seoul National University Dental School to become an entertainer, is putting on the white gown after all. The new SBS Wednesday Thursday drama 'Manyeo Yuhui', will be broadcast, starring Kim Jung-Hoon as a thoracic and cardiovascular surgeon.
Kim Jung-Hoon entered Seoul National University Dental School in 1998, but withdrew from the university in 2003 after finishing 4 semesters to pursue a career as a singer/actor full-time. He declared several leave of absences as a registered student while he was a member of the popular music group UN with Choi Jung-Won.
After his singing career with UN, Kim Jung-Hoon transferred to Chung-ang University College of Arts as a third-year student of the Department of Theater, during which he was suddenly cast for a part in the drama 'Goong (Princess Hours)' which is based on a comic book he had enjoyed reading. Therefore it was not a hard decision to make; Kim Jung Hoon soon agreed to participate in the drama, which became his first serious role as an actor. Kim Jung-Hoon previously appeared in the movies 'DMZ', 'Kkabulgima', etc. However, as he recalled his acting experience prior to the drama 'Goong' he revealed, 'Back then I didn't feel like I was acting, but rather that I was faithfully fulfilling my daily schedule. It was the drama 'Gung' which made me realize that gave me more of a desire to become an actor. I knew then that I must follow my heart.'
In the upcoming drama 'Manyeo Yuhui', Kim Jung-Hoon plays a thoracic and cardiovascular surgeon who is rivals with Jae-Hee. They both try and win the heart of ‘Han Ga-In. His character Yu Jun-Ha, is the female character Ma Yu-Hui's (played by Han Ga-In) first love. Yu Jun-Ha is a cold-hearted character who is capable of betraying his most precious love for success.
Though Yu Jun-Ha is an ambitious two-faced character, he is a bad guy in the sense that his weakness stems from his strong desire for success. In order to play this character role, he is working out to tone down his soft gentle image 2 hours everyday to build a more muscular physique. He is also dieting to make his face look slimmer for a sharper, masculine image. Kim Jung-Hoon is trying in everyway possible to get ready for this new transformation of playing a 'bad boy' character, and with all his efforts his fans are looking forward to seeing not only his acting, but this new fresh image.

03/02/07 JeongHoon & JI Hoon "Rivals" Again?
Joo Ji Hoon in Goong, who also became popular acted as Jeong Hoon’s love rival. Unexpectedly after one year, 2 dramas each taken up by them will be rivals on screen again!
Joo Ji Hoon who has not acted for one year will appear in KBS new drama ‘Devil King’, tentatively female lead actress is ‘This Love should Die’ (Rain drama) female lead actress Sing Min Yu. Pairing of Ji Hoon and Sing Min Yu gives people a refreshing feeling.
The story starts with a tragedy that happened during the characters teen’s age, which leads to Joo Ji Hoon - lawyer character and Yen Tai Xiong – police role, engaging in opposite fates. Sing Min Yu - mysterious mind Fortune teller and the 2 male characters would be in a triangle love relationship. In the drama, there are supernatural powers and fortune telling scenes and the theme is full of exciting mystery, which is entirely different from Goong style. It will start airing on 21st Feb in Korea.
"Begin-Shoots" Praying Ceremony attracted Crowds
On 31st January, SBS drama Witch Yoo Hee cast held the "begin-shoots" praying ceremony at KwangJang-dong outside a Chinese cuisine restaurant. The restaurant drew a crowd there as residents thought it was the opening of a new shop and went there. They prayed for success and good viewer rates of the drama.
The weather was cold, but drama cast – Kim Jeong Hoon, Han Gaa In, Jae Hee, Dennis O and other actors attended the praying ceremony. The story talks about a love story between a CEO (who is very capable at work but with almost zero love experience) and a guy (who desires to be a Chef and is experienced in relationships). Witch Yoo Hee starts to air on 14th March which will clash as rival drama of Devil King.

News on KJH new drama with title 'Military Tactics of Love'with China production
According to the reporters, there will be another big-production movie in 2007. This will be Lian Ai Bing Fa, which is a Chinese-Korean production. Male lead Kim Jung Hoon has already signed the contract with the Tian Yi company yesterday. Lian Ai Bing Fa is said to be a very interesting story. The male and female lead met each other through love skills like the 36 Strategies of Art of War. But because of their true feelings, they realized these love skills are used as a weapon to gain happiness. Kim Jung Hoon, whose popularity soared after Goong,immediately accepted the role after reading the story.

Understanding the real Kim Jeong Hoon Part 1 - Impression section
When watching shows, we always tend to bring the real person into therole, but a role is a role, it cannot be linked to the real person. Yulis Kim Jeong Hoon, but Kim Jeong Hoon is not Yul.
To understanda person, the first thing you see will definitely be his outerappearance. The first impression Kim Jeong Hoon gives is that he抯 agenuine, sincere, cute, lovely and厖 is he male or female?
