And I'm not talking about Christmas. When I say that, I actually mean it's time for a new AMD vs. INTELchickfight. And this time it's a perfect moment for AMD's CEO HectorRuiz to take the center stage at the American Antitrust InstituteNational Conference in Washington, D.C. A good place to tell just howpissed off you are. And since we're talking about AMD, you can only bemad at INTEL. "I want to give you an idea of what it’s like to do business day in andday out when you are competing against an abusive monopolist. How itmakes no difference whether you are just as efficient – or even moreefficient – than they are." said Ruiz.

"I do not need my fortune teller hat to tell you one truth about whichI am absolutely certain. There is no proper or defensible place forillegal monopolies in the 21st century global marketplace... My purposeis not to argue for competitive advantage - we know how to compete. Mypurpose is to lay out the facts so that law and economics can do theirjob to protect consumers. Google, Microsoft, and computer manufacturers like HP and Dellall owe their existence to the simple fact that competition replacedforced exclusivity and allowed a variety of players to compete andsucceed," he also said.

And then came the bomb: "Intel uses illegal tactics explicitly aimed atpreventing customers from doing business with AMD." Dell for example isaccused of "secret and likely illegal" actions that promote exclusiveuse of INTEL chips inside Dell computers. "Computermanufacturers are dependent upon Intel's ‘rebates’ for a large portionof their razor-thin operating margins and must sacrifice their brand infavor of promoting Intel," Ruiz added.

"In an IT industry without an abusive monopoly, computermanufacturers are empowered to flourish because innovation anddifferentiation are rewarded – rather than be obligated to a singlesupplier. The benefits are passed on to consumers through lower pricesand greater choice in the marketplace." Nice said but I can't help butwonder. Would AMD have done the same thing if it had an equal marketshare? Probably.

pekara macam ni asam garam..mana2 pun macam tu..bila sesuatu jenama mendominasi satu pasaran..pasti ada cerita2 yang tak baik akan muncul..walaupun pekara itu benar terjadi..kalau AMD kuasai pasaran, dan Intel buat macam kat atas..tak juga depa bising sangat.in the end..its all about the money..its all about that dum dum dum..
