Man dies in hail of bullets at petrol kiosk

IPOH: A 35-year-old man was shot dead yesterday in an incident which saw the assailants firing a barrage of bullets at their victim in a chase from a petrol station to the Bercham police station 2km away. Police are now checking if the attack was related to the murder of the man's business partner in February.
The victim, believed to be involved in nightclubs, was filling petrol in his Toyota Wish, when a black Naza Citra with three men pulled up about 4pm.
Two of the men alighted from the vehicle and fired several shots at him, prompting the victim's wife to leave the station's counter and rush to the car.
The woman then sped off with her husband inside the vehicle, but the gunmen and their accomplice gave chase.
The men rammed their vehicle into the side of the Wish, while firing their guns.
They only gave up the chase when the victim's wife pulled into the Bercham police station.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner Azisman Alias said paramedics from the Ipoh Hospital were rushed to the police station but were too late. The victim was declared dead at 4.30pm.
"He sustained gunshots to his body and his feet. We haven't determined the number of bullets which hit him," he said.
Azisman did not release the victim's name, saying that the name on his identity card differed from a passport found on him.
"We will have to investigate his identity and check if the petrol station had a CCTV (closed-circuit television) recording," he said.
Asked if the killing was connected to the murder of the victim's business partner on Feb 15, he said this was yet to be determined.
The victim's vehicle had a damaged skirting and at least four bullet holes on the driver's side.
The victim's wife, in her early 30s, is believed to be unharmed.
Friends of the victim said he had two children and had returned to Ipoh from a business trip in Penang only yesterday. |

jenayah tembak2 ni dah jadi biasa skg ni. Camne leh dpt pistol mudah camtu? Aritu kes kat hiway kot yg ade satu kereta ni tak bagi kereta belakang potong, sekali mamat kereta belakang tu siap acu pistol kat dia....mau terkencing lam sluar  |
