Mods... do lock, move or delete this thread if it's in the wrong section.....

Are there any shops in Lowyat Plaza or Imbi Plaza that sells low profile brackets for graphic cards?
(Well I couldn't fit my old-unused XFX 8400GS into my bro's Dell Dimension C521 without it....... )

Dell Dimension C521 ? thats some latest high end pc. should be no problem to insert XFX 8400GS card.

may i know what motherboard are used on your brother's pc?

your card are PCI-Express slot. your bro's pc's motherboard should hav the same socket.
sometime it just the size giv some probLem that u hav to remove the processor first becoz its blocking the installation process.

is it this one ? http://www.hardware.info/en-US/n ... _consumer_desktops/

if yes, maybe the casing is too small and the card is too big.

Yes, and I'm sure it's the casing size that restricts me from installing the card....

u dont need low profile graphic cards for that.

just go and look for the correct size of graphic card.

klik here : http://www.hardwarezone.com.my/priceguide/
and download price list (low yat shop). then u can google for the specs and even look for the picture on the net first before u go and buy.

insted of buying another graphic card for the right size, and hav that XFX un-used,  maybe u can get new ATX casing that is bigger to fix the problem. i know dell casing is nice but it is not practical for u right?

Buy a new casing? I would want to but afraid it won't fit Dell's mobo inside...
Still I think his PC's warranty have expired since he bought it on 2006..

btw.... pic of what I'm looking for :

too bad. aku pun baru prasan mainboard dlm casing tu pelik sikit.

tak pasti kalo beli casing baru pun maybe tak muat.

i dunno how to suggest unless i see the cpu myself.

regarding the item u looking for, try lookup at lowyat forum.
here : http://forum.lowyat.net/DisplayCards&Monitors

u may ask there, open new thread with WTB (want to buy) tag.
or maybe u just browse around first coz maybe its already there.
