Chilemena said the CECAFA tournament would be used to prepare for the inaugural African Nations Championships (Chan) finals scheduled for Abidjan, Ivory Coast from February 22 to March 8, 2009 and the 2010 World Cup and Africa Cup second round qualifier against Egypt in March.
Zambia has been placed in Group B of the tournament that also comprises Sudan, Kenya and Burundi.
Group A has hosts Uganda, Zanzibar, Somalia, Tanzania and Rwanda.
The full squad called to camp is: goalkeepers Davey Kaumbwa (Green Buffaloes) and Bailand Chungu (Ndola United) and defenders, Elijah Tana (Nchanga Rangers), Francis Kasonde (Power) Dennis Banda (Buffaloes), Mbola (Mining Rangers) Nyambe Mulenga (Zesco) and Charles Siyingwa (Konkola Blades).
The midfielders are Hachipuka (Eagles) Kondwani Mtonga (Zesco), Mudenda (Power), William Njobvu (Josephat Nkhoma (Lusaka Dynamos) and Masautso Zimba (Roan), with Kabuku (Warriors), Roger Kola, Given Singuluma (Zanaco), Phiri, Sakuwaha (Zesco), Philemon Chipeta (Dynamos) and Kelvin Muzungu (Roan) making up the striking force.
