2 Typhoons join Saudi Air Force

LONDON - Saudi Arabia has taken delivery of the first two Typhoon aircraft belonging to the Saudi Royal Air Force out of an order for 72 as part of the Al-Salam Project, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported Friday.

            Another 48 Typhoons will arrive within weeks, and will be assembled inside Saudi Arabia in cooperation between the companies of Economic Offset Program and the private sector, said Prince Khalid Bin Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz, Assistant Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General for Military Affairs.

               He said the assembling of this huge number of aircraft being done in Saudi Arabia was the first in any country, indicating that the transfer of technology will be done at institutes and factories in the Kingdom in collaboration with the private sector.
Prince Khalid noted that this achievement has been the result of the support provided for air, sea and land forces by the government to raise their combat capabilities.

               He said Saudi youth will be given priority in vacancies to be announced by the Al-Salam Project. BAE Systems employs approximately 5,000 employees, more than half of them are Saudis, he said. Saudi Arabia is the first country outside Europe to have the Typhoon.

P.S - Berkat minyak yg menimbun saudi menjadi negara pertama luar Eropah menggunakan pesawat Typhoon ini 72 unit plak tu

[tr][td]LONDON: Assistant Defense and Aviation Minister Prince Khaled bin Sultan, who received two Eurofighter Typhoon jets at a ceremony at the BAE Systems in England on Thursday, said the acquisition of the aircraft would boost the defense capability of the Kingdom. He took delivery of two jets out of 72 planes to be supplied by BAE systems under a 20 billionpounds ($32.9 billion) deal, Saudi Press Agency and Britain抯 Ministry of Defense said yesterday.

                     Saudi Arabia is the first country outside Europe to have the Typhoon jets, a multirole aircraft produced by a BAE Systems-led consortium of European firms. The deal was first announced in August 2006 while contract for the Typhoon aircraft was signed in September 2007.The purchase will help upgrade the Saudi air force from its current fleet of BAE抯 1980s-vintage Tornado F3s and US-made Boeing F-15s.

                     Under the deal, BAE is to deliver 24 completely built Typhoons to the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) while another 48 are to be assembled inside Saudi Arabia as the country seeks to build up its own aeronautic industry capabilities. Prince Khaled said Saudis would be given priority in jobs related to the assembling and maintenance of the planes. Prince Khaled said the acquisition of the new aircraft was 搉ot meant to threaten anyone but to protect and secure the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia over the coming decades,

setahu wa, batch saudi arabia ini dari tranch 2 yg mana UK sepatutnya ambil utk RAF tapi ditanguhkan ke tranch 3. Itulah sebab cepatnya saudi dapat typhoon dom masa 2 tahun dari tarikh siging kontrak.

Apa jadi Tornado F3 saudi , siapa mau kasi tahu.

eurofighter typhoon nih juga gabungan teknologi kejuruteraan dari seluruh Eropah..
kos dia pon jauh lagi murah dari F22 Raptor dan mempunyai keupayaan setaraf dengan
F22 Raptor..hu4,typhoon nih memang ngancam..bentuk dia pon macam Mirage 2000..

arab ni klu beli ape2 pun aku tak kisah.....mmg dia kaya pun, tp tak reti pakai. antar krew gi training, semua makan angin, enjoy.....

yg penah antar kt malaysia pun sama, dtg nak enjoy...lepas geram sbb tak leh buat kt negara sendiri. pas tu tak reti operate..... dah penah jadi kt kuwait masa iraq invasion, semua lari tinggal sbb tak reti pakai.....

Beli jet bebanyak pun buat apa... tak tolong sesiapa pun macam Gaza dll.. kalau KSA nak kena serang pun Uncle Sam jugak yang datang...

Baik bangunkan negara lagi bagus.. KSA mundur at least 20-30 tahun di belakang Malaysia..

F22 raptor mana sama dgn typhoon. F22 5th generasi wahal typhoon 4.5 shj.
