LDL (Bad) Cholesterol
When too much LDL (bad) cholesterol circulates in the blood, it can slowly build up in the inner walls of the arteries that feed the heart and brain. Together with other substances, it can form plaque, a thick, hard deposit that can narrow the arteries and make them less flexible. This condition is known as atherosclerosis. If a clot forms and blocks a narrowed artery, heart attack or stroke can result.
HDL (Good) Cholesterol
About one-fourth to one-third of blood cholesterol is carried by high-density lipoprotein (HDL). HDL cholesterol is known as "good" cholesterol, because high levels of HDL seem to protect against heart attack. Low levels of HDL (less than 40 mg/dL) also increase the risk of heart disease. Medical experts think that HDL tends to carry cholesterol away from the arteries and back to the liver, where it's passed from the body. Some experts believe that HDL removes excess cholesterol from arterial plaque, slowing its buildup.

What Is Total Cholesterol?
When your cholesterol is checked, you get a number for total cholesterol, one for the HDL level, and one for the LDL level. Your total cholesterol will be more than the sum of the HDL and LDL numbers.
Either a high HDL number or a high LDL number can make your total cholesterol number high. If it is high because of a high HDL number, your health is not necessarily in danger.
However, if it's high because your LDL cholesterol level is high, it's important to talk with your doctor about your health risks. Your doctor can explain how lifestyle changes can help you reduce the LDL cholesterol in your body.
A good level of HDL cholesterol is at least 60mg/dL. HDL levels between 40 and 60 are considered OK. An optimal level of LDL cholesterol is under 100 mg/dL. |

tapi 5.1 x perlu risau ape pon.. dah kire normal tuh.. tanye DR psl ketebalan lemak yg bungkus jantung.. dulu DR ade bagitau aku.. yg nih bahaye gak..
last week aku ade kursus kesihatan.. ade pakar pemakanan kate ubah care hidup sekarang..
1. jangan makan makanan caler putih.. nasik, roti.. cuma susu jer boleh..
2. tukar amik gula perang atau stevia ganti gula..
3.minum yakult..
4. makan buah buahan lagi bagus dr minum jus buah
5. makan sayur sayuran..
6. pakar tuh kena cancer colon tahap 3 psl mase kecik selalu makan super ring..
7. selalu exercise.. kalu kena heart attack.. org yg selalu bersukan peluang hidup lagi tinggi dr yg malas bersukan..
8. jangan merokok.. merokok menyebabkan arteri darah jadi keras cam simen.. mudah pecah.. |

baguslah tuh.. tapi kena ingat.. high colestrol nih silent killer paling hebat 2,3 tahun nih.. ade beberape kawan aku.. w.pon kurus.. selalu main bola petang2.. meninggal sebab high cholestrol nih.. puncanya pemakanan.. dan juga genetik.. |

5.1 tu untuk total cholesterol kut.. ntah la, tak sure yg mana satu.. tapi biasanya, kalau doktor tak cakap pape tu, maksudnya ok la tu.. kalau abnormal, mesti doktor tu akan bagitau kolesterol awak ada tinggi sket" atau "kolesterol agak tinggi ni, kena jaga makan dan exercise, kalau tak nanti kene makan ubat kolesterol".. ha ha lebih kurang gitu le..

I pundalam kategori bangsa berkolestrol tinggi. Penah skali tue sampai 7++. Risau gak. Last week check dah turun 5.58. I amek red yeast rice. Dengan izin Allah boleh kurangkan kadar kolestrol. Yang penting, jaga makan and senaman.
