My Secret Romance’ Update: Dominates Popular Series Chart, Sung Hoon Starrer Beats ‘Ruler: Master Of The Mask’
Sung Hoon and Song Ji Eun's drama "My Secret Romance" continues to reign over Drama Fever's popular Asian series chart. The OCN romantic comedy series retained its top spot on the said list and even bested the historical drama "Ruler: Master of the Mask."
"My Secret Romance" nabbed the first place on Drama Fever's weekly Top 10 Asian series list for the third time in a row. Despite only airing one episode for the week of May 8, the said OCN series continued to be the most popular drama on the Warner Bros. owned video streaming site, according to a chart listing on the said website.
Meanwhile, the tvN drama "The Liar and His Lover" nabbed the spot previously occupied by "Strong Woman Do Bong Soon." Following "My Secret Romance" at second place, the said musical drama bested the JTBC romantic series which dropped to number three. The new historical series "Ruler: Master of the Mask" came in at fourth place with the variety program "Running Man" at fifth place.
Apart from "My Secret Romance," other series that landed a spot on Drama Fever's weekly chart included "Suspicious Partner" at sixth place, followed by the Chinese drama "Surgeons" and tvN's fantasy series "Goblin." Namgoong Min's office drama "Chief Kim" came in at number nine, while "Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms" took the tenth spot.
In other news, "My Secret Romance" has been delighting avid viewers with its romantic storyline and the sweet interactions between lead characters Jin Wook (Sung Hoon) and Yoo Mi (Song Ji Eun). In an earlier interview, the drama's director commented how the OCN series' story will focus on romance and will feature "a lot of chemistry" between the said two protagonists, Korea Herald quoted the filmmaker as saying.

Pendapat aku rasa tu bukan anak Yoomi. Sebab mula2 kan Yoomi tinggal sorang pastu bila mak dia pindah masuk dgn budak tu Yoomi mcm marah.. takkan la Yoomi marah kalau dia mak ye dak.. pastu takkan la org yg baik mcm Yoomi tak jaga sendiri anak dia..
Cara dia layan Donggu pun mcm kasar sket, mcm kakak dgn adik.. tak mcm mak.. pastu bila date bertiga dgn Jinwook, Yoomi mcm tak suka je.. unless Yoomi ni ada masalah kemurungan lepas bersalin, aku tak rasa budak tu anak dia..

" I discovered acting is my calling in life.”
In a literal sense of word, Sung Hoon is a rookie,
yet he was selected for the lead character during the auditions for SBS weekend drama, ‘New Tales of Gisaeng‘, something he too, thought was incredulous,
at that time. But a year later, he’s pleased.
Controversial or not, through the role of Ah Da-mo, Sung Hoon’s name is deeply ingrained in the minds of the viewers.
>>> “ You’re a little old to be called a rookie.”
Sung Hoon : “ I was active as a swimming athlete until 2006.
I wasn’t only a swimming athlete in name.
I held new records in various swimming competitions, in a way, I was riding high as an athlete.
However, I suffered a back injury and other injuries, and went through general anesthesia six times for the operation.
Eventually, I was forced to fold my dreams of becoming an athlete.”
>>> “ It must be traumatic.”
Sung Hoon : “ After I gave up swimming,
I was in a panic for two years.
My drinking increased, but then, I felt that I was going to get into serious trouble if things remained as it was, so I entered the army.
Then, I had my first audition for New Tales of Gisaeng.”
>>> “ In that case, it means you have no acting experience.”
Sung Hoon : “ You’re right.
That is why I can’t believe it when I heard that I passed the audition.
What’s worst was that I had to be the lead in three months. I questioned, ‘just (what’s the reason) why me?’
and then it struck me, ‘this is serious’.
If the lead character is lost, then the drama is done for.”
>>> “ And so, you were lost.”
Sung Hoon : “ I was awkward with the camera, lighting, etc. and there’s nothing I was skilled at.
Generally speaking, I didn’t know where to look at when I was saying my lines. But (writer) Im Sung-han and PD Sohn Mun-kwon told me,
‘believe in and follow yourself’.
They really left it all to me.”
>>> “ What was the hardest part about the filming?”
Sung Hoon : “ 6 months before the filming,
I had to meet with PD Sohn for daily training.
I had to learn everything from the tone of my voice, acting, saying the lines to taking care of my gaze.
It was painfully back-breaking. I guess that’s why it was a little comfortable when I got back to the filming.
And certainly, when I actually did it, I felt, ‘ah, it’s better with that practice.’
At the very least, I had to stay up through the night to memorize the script.
For five times per week, I had to be up all night, and thereafter, I would feel like I was walking on clouds.”
>>> “ And still, you desire to act.”
Sung Hoon : “ When working on New Tales of Gisaeng,
I realized that acting is my calling.
The truth is, at the early part of the drama, I thought, ‘when the drama ends, I should stop too’.
It was tough and it seemed that I have no aptitude for it, but when I did it, I felt that there’s nothing more interesting than acting.
‘I want to do this as a lifelong profession’, that’s what I thought.”
