Smart home devices are supposed to increase convenience and security, but Marketplace reveals they could actually be making your home, your family and your data more vulnerable, and putting your privacy at risk.

Yes, there are certain risks associated with smart home devices. There is a high possibility that such devices may be hacked, and your privacy is in the public domain. This applies to CCTV cameras inside and outside the house to a greater extent. I also consider remote locks to be one of such smart devices. It is risky, but for the sake of comfort, you have to take certain risks. This scares me a little, so from smart devices, at home, I use only a color changing light bulb and a robot vacuum cleaner. It is very convenient and at the same time safe. I'm not ready for more. I can't shake the thought that I'm being watched.
