Quantity Surveyor or Jurukur Bahan mainlye deals ngan project's cost (estimate, progress payment, final a/c dan yg sewaktu dengannya).
Bread and butter for a qs is doing taking-off - measuring the quantities from architect's drawings and specs . Pastu jadi la Bills of Quantities untuk dimasukkan ke dalam dokumen tender which will soon jadi dokumen kontrak. Dulu semua nie kena buat semua manually  , tp sekarang dah ada software like Masterbill etc.
Peluang kerja? So far, good. It all depends on the construction industry in general. Kalau banyak projek memang laku habis QS nie. Boleh pilih nak kerja ngan gomen, qs practices or contractors. Sekarang banyak local unis and colleges yg offer qs like mentioned above such as UiTM, UM, UIA, USM, etc. Kalau overseas, selalu student gi UK and Australia... just my 2 cents |

qs practices kerja cam qs kat government sector gak: buat pre and post tender works - prepare bq, estimate, buat valuation, final a/c
as for qs kerja ngan contractors - pricing the bq untuk submit for tender, buat claims, prepare vo kalau ada (memang selalu ada ).
kalau nak jadi qs, kena ada at least degree. Kalau sijil, jadi technician and diploma jadi TA dulu. For a start semua fresh grads, kira cam provisional/graduate qs. Kena amik exam and interview ngan BQSM/ISM for a registered status. Kalau go all out, rasanya umur 28-29 dah boleh jadi registered QS. |

Ya correct, memang banyak melibatkan nombor. Tapi jangan dok susah hati sangat, sekarang dah banyak software untuk qs available in the market. Once you get hold of it and the rest of qs routines, best jadi qs nie. Gi site meeting, jumpa clients, buat valuation, etc...

kalo sesape yg nak jd QS ni.. pd pendapatan teman baguih sesgt.. keje melibatkan kos.. pentadbiran kontrak.. pra dan pasca.. timbangtara.. tp pape pun kalo kome sukekan keje cam Ir or Jurutera.. leh le amek QS nih.. plg sesuai for lady lee.. kurang skit nak kene duk kat site compare tu Jurutera nih..

bezenyee.. QS do all the task yg terlibat lam 1 projek.. juru audit nih.. semak sume dokumen yg bekait ngan projek td utk detect kalo2 ade task yg tak follow prosedur.. tp deme buat secara general laaa.. melainkan kalo ade something wrong ngan projek tu.. |
