Among the heaviest babies recorded are a 10.2kg (22.5lb) boy born in Italy in 1955, and a 10.8kg (23.8lb) boy born in the US in 1879 but who died 11 hours later.

Penyembah syaitan ditangkap di Rusia

MOSCOW - Sekumpulan penganut penyembah syaitan memakan sebahagian daging empat remaja Rusia selepas membunuh mereka dengan menikam mangsa sebanyak 666 kali, lapor sebuah akhbar semalam.

Geng itu menikam sebanyak 666 kali kerana percaya kepada angka tersebut, kata seorang anggota polis.

Sebanyak tiga gadis dan seorang remaja lelaki berumur antara 16 tahun hingga 17 tahun dipercayai dipaksa meminum minuman keras sebelum kumpulan itu menyerang mereka.

Penganut ajaran sesat itu kemudian menyalakan unggun api di bawah sebatang pokok berhampiran tempat ibadat mereka di wilayah Yaroslavl iaitu 480 kilometer ke timur laut Moscow.

Suspek memasak dan memakan tubuh mangsa. Namun sebahagian mayat mangsa iaitu Anya Gorokhova, Olga Pukhova, Varya Kuzmina dan Andrei Sorokin, yang dilaporkan hilang pada Jun lalu akhirnya dijumpai semula pada bulan lepas.

Setelah menahan lapan orang bagi membantu siasatan kes tersebut, pihak polis menyedari bahawa semua empat panggilan telefon dihubungkan ke sebuah flat yang didiami oleh ketua kumpulan itu, Nikolai Ogolobyak.

"Syaitan akan menolong saya untuk mengelak daripada bertanggungjawab. Saya banyak berkorban demi dia," kata seorang suspek ketika disoal siasat.

"Saya berdoa kepada Tuhan tetapi dia tidak memberi sebarang wang. Saya menyembah syaitan," kata seorang lagi ahli geng sesat itu. - Agensi
