1. Meet Umair. He took his shahadah 2 months ago in Brazil. He shares his transition from street life to Islam. He says that everyone on the Street has faith, we just need to reach out to them to reform and accept Islam. He says his goal is to be steadfast in Islam and to invite others to Islam by doing dawah.
2. Subboor Ahmad and John Fontain decided to hand out flyers that spark an interest about Islam on the Copa Cabana beach front. The flyers were going out fast as the thousands of people were walking up and down the beach after the football.
The time for Magrib (evening prayer) began and John wanted to go back to the apartment to pray but Subboor decided that they should stay and pray near the beach. They moved to a slightly secluded spot away from the crowd near some trees under a street lamp. The moment John started to give the call to prayer, the adhan, a couple approached us saying they received a flyer from us over an hour ago and had been trying to find us!
Both were very interested in learning about Islam. They were both very open and admitted they did not believe that Jesus was part of God or the son of God but instead a prophet sent by God.
Both were raised as Catholics but were searching for the truth and prayed and worshipped God alone. After a deep conversation, they decided they wanted to accept Islam but were very concerned about how they would learn more about this religion as they were not aware of the small Muslim community in Rio de Janeiro. Allhu'Akbar, even before accepting Islam they were thinking of the process of change and further study.
We have kept in touch with them and have introduced them to the local Muslim community. May Allah make them from among the best of people. Ameen.
Reflecting on this amazing incident, Copa Cabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro during the World Cup is one of the busiest places in the city with rampant drugs, alcohol and serious crime but in the midst of this, it was the decree of Allah that these two sincere individuals would be guided to the religion of Islam.

byk lagi kat yt... x sangka ramai yang terbuka hati dengan dakwah semasa piala dunia ni.. berbeza ngan tempat kita yang dikata Islam sejak azali...
hidayah bagi mereka yang terpilih...
kat tengah jalan pun boleh terus terbuka hati..tanpa pikir panjang lak tu.. mmg mereka merasakan kekosongan hati yang sebenar..
mcm kita ni, x merasa apa yang ingin mereka cari tu.. sebab dari kecil dah diajar kan.. tp mungkin sebab didikan yang tidak begitu berat, menyebabkan ramai islam azali terpesong jauh...
mcm bangsa Arab, mereka sombong x nak baca Al-quran dengan tartil dan tajwid.. sebab mereka yakin mereka lebih mengetahui dan memahami alquran kerana menggunakan bahasa arab..
mcm bangsa melayu lak, sombong, konon dari lahir dah Islam, so selamanya la Islam. x perlu takut.. sebab kalau buat salah, masih ada masa lagi nak bertaubat memandangkan Melayu itu Islam..

Selamat datang diucapkan kepada mereka. Kita yg Islam ni kene perkasakan jatidiri sbg org Islam. Sbb takut hat yg kapir laknatullah buat cara yg sama. Semoga dijauhkan dr godaan jin dan syaitan.
