Man Utd's Asian Tour 2007
Manchester United's players will be in the air for FORTY HOURS during their preseason tour of Asia.
The club has set up a trip which kicks off in Japan against Urawa Red Diamonds on July 17, then takes in games in South Korea and China before finishing with a match against a Malaysian select in Kuala Lumpur on July 27. United boss Sir Alex Ferguson would have preferred a pre-season jaunt to North America on the basis of top-class training facilities, climate and time zone. But United's money men want to take advantage of the club's big Asian following.

United have confirmed the match schedule for the club's Asia Tour 2007.
The Reds will travel to Japan to face Urawa Red Diamonds on 17 July at Saitama Stadium, before heading to Korea on 20 July to take on FC Seoul at the Seoul World Cup Stadium.
Next stop is Macau Stadium in China where Shenzhen FC will be the opposition on 23 July. The final destination will be Kuala Lumpur's Bukit Jalil Stadium for a match against a Malaysian XI on 27 July.
United chief executive David Gill says the Reds are relishing this summer's trip.
"The Club has a large and very loyal fanbase in the region and the players always enjoy their trips to see them and play in front of their passionate support," says Gill. "Everyone is looking forward to it."
United's last tour of Asia was in 2005, when they visited Hong Kong, Beijing and Tokyo. |
