Fergie: King Louis can reign
ALEX FERGUSON is backing Louis Saha to play a vital role in Manchester United's title charge.
The Frenchman completed his comeback from a knee injury as he scored in United's 5-1 romp against Newcastle on Saturday. Ferguson said: "Louis is a definite big bonus to us.
"He is different from everyone else in the squad. He gives us strength and penetration."
United boss Ferguson has also warned his players to be prepared for a tough run-in.
He added: "It's tense. Points will be dropped.
"You saw last season that we had some real nail-biters.
"We've got players coming back that are helping.
"That's the important thing. We have got a good, strong squad.
"Everyone is fit at the moment and hopefully we can keep them that way." |

Neville set to face Liverpool
[quote]
Gary Neville has been named in the Reserves' squad to face Liverpool on Tuesday evening.
The Reds' club captain has been in full training and is set to step up his comeback against the Merseysiders at Warrington Wolves' Halliwell Jones Stadium.
Neville featured for the Reserves against Everton in January, scoring in a 45 minute cameo before being withdrawn with a tight hamstring. After nearly 11 months on the sidelines, he will hope for Tuesday's match to provide some much-needed match sharpness as he continues his recovery.
He is part of a strong squad named by Brian McClair and Jim Ryan, who will be eager for their side to regain a foothold in the Barclays Premier Reserve League title race.
A solitary point from recent matches against Blackburn and Wigan have damaged the Reds' hopes of a third title in four years, but victory over Gary Ablett's side, who head the table by six points, could kickstart a late charge.
Fans who wish to attend can purchase tickets at the stadium ticket office, and are encouraged to ask for South Stand terrace tickets when purchasing. Tickets are priced at |

Man Utd raid Liverpool for top England prospect
tribalfooball.com - February 24, 2008

Manchester United have trumped Liverpool for teenage prospect Scott Wootton. The People says the England youthinternational from the Wirral had been with the Anfield club since hewas 12, but he and his family were upset when he was offered only ashort-term deal to stay.
Wootton turned down the contract and wasimmediately picked up by United who offered him the chance to be aprofessional - after just one run-out in the under-18 side last week.
It is a major slap for Rafa Benitez's club andinsiders reveal Wootton left because he thought there were too manyforeigners at the club's academy and his way would be blocked.
And the size of his potential was quickly spotted by eager United. |

Neville's return ends in defeat
England full-back Gary Neville played 60 minutes for Manchester United reserves in a 2-0 defeat at Liverpool on Tuesday night.
The United club captain is stepping up his comeback after spendingalmost 11 months on the sidelines with ankle ligament problems.
Yet Neville could do little to prevent his side going down to a strong Liverpool side at the Warrington Wolves' Halliwell Jones Stadium in front of a crowd of 10,546.
Denmarkdefender Daniel Agger - also battling back from injury having broken ametatarsal last September - Harry Kewell and Xabi Alonso were all inaction for the Reds.
Liverpool won with a first-half Alonso penalty and a late breakaway strike from Kewell.
Recent signing Martin Skrtel, a half-time replacement for Agger, and Jay Spearing also hit the bar for Liverpool.
Momentsbefore Kewell wrapped up the win United's Danny Simpson was denied anequaliser when the referee ruled his header had not crossed the line.
United, who also had a Chris Eagles goal ruled out for offside, finished thegame with 10 men after Richard Eckersley was dismissed for two bookableoffences late on.
Liverpool now lead the Premier Reserve League North by nine points. |

Foster set for comeback as Capello seeks to solve goalkeeping riddle

FabioCapello has made little secret of his misgivings about the paucity oftop-quality English goalkeepers but the England head coach will beencouraged to learn that the most credible challenger for David James'sposition is nearing the end of a 10-month injury lay-off. Capello hasnot had a chance to see Ben Foster but that opportunity may not be faraway after the 24-year-old was pencilled in for his long-awaitedcomeback match.
Foster has been recovering all seasonfrom a knee operation but his rehabilitation is ahead of schedule andit is a measure of his progress that he was disappointed to be left outof Manchester United's reserve match at Liverpool last night.SirAlex Ferguson has adopted a cautious approach, reluctant to take anyrisks with such a valuable player, but the United manager has him inmind for a reserve game against Middlesbrough tomorrow week. If so, itwill be Foster's first game since a two-year loan spell at Watford inwhich his form was so impressive that the manager, Adrian Boothroyd, described him as better than United's current goalkeeper, Edwin van derSar, and predicted that he would go on to be recognised as the best inthe world.
Capello will certainly be pleased to see Foster returnto action, given the coach's recent remarks to the Italian mediabemoaning the shortage of English goalkeepers. James was restored tothe team for Capello's first match in charge, the 2-1 defeat ofSwitzerland this month, but it is unrealistic to assume the 37-year-oldwill be able to maintain his excellent form until the World Cup inSouth Africa in 2010 and there will always be doubts about his habit ofmaking expensive mistakes.
Capello has subsequently been lookingat younger players and, almost by default, he is considering calling upJoe Hart, Manchester City's England Under-21 international, for thefriendly against France against Paris on March 26. Paul Robinson'sreturn to the Tottenham Hotspur side adds another name to the equationbut Capello is known to be intrigued by the reports he has heard aboutFoster and has watched the video of his one England appearance againstSpain. |
