Arsene Wenger Wants Inter Starlet Santon At Arsenal – Reports
The Gunners’ manager is hoping to lure the young Inter defender to the Emirates, according to the latest reports
Having only made his senior debut for Inter earlier this year, Davide Santon is already being denoted as one of Italy’s star players for the future.
He made his debut against Roma in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals back in January, and he was certainly an impressive performer in that match, as he held his own and assisted his side to a commendable 2-1 victory in the process.
As a result of his early promise, Arsene Wenger and Arsenal have stepped in to declare their interest in the 18-year-old, as they wish to lure him to the Emirates Stadium.
According to The Daily Mirror, the Arsenal manager will send an emissary to monitor the progress of the young Italian this weekend, as Inter do battle with Milan in the Derby della Madonnina.
If they like what they see, then expect Wenger and the club to pursue their interest a lot further, as they look to bolster their defence for the future.

Robinho and Elano dazzle
IF Brazil are this good then what chance does Fabio Capello have of leading Engeling kasta rendah to World Cup glory?
The Engeling boss has his work cut out if he is finally to break the Three Lions’ 43-year hoodoo.
Even in the absence of arguably their best player Kaka, the Samba Stars still looked unbeatable as they tamed reigning world champions Italy last night.
And two Manchester City stars turned a friendly into the best game you are ever likely to see at the Emirates.
When world football’s biggest powerhouses meet, it’s never a friendly of course — these two countries have won HALF the World Cups played.
And City’s Robinho and Elano, who scored the decisive goals, put on the kind of show normally reserved for World Cup finals making it an unforgettable night.
It was a pulsating encounter. Brazil edged it but until Robinho’s magnificent strike after Elano’s opener, this was a helter-skelter affair.
Brazilian coach Dunga was delighted with Robinho’s contribution and said: “We all know what Robinho can do but we talked about putting pressure on the Italians to recover the ball.
“He showed good personality and fitted well into the team.”
His Italian counterpart Marcello Lippi refused to read too much into the result with his players involved in league action 48 hours earlier.
He said: “They were better than us — they won the derby of the world.
“But only for now, we will come back stronger.”
And decisions hardly went his way either as blunder ref Howard Webb wrongly ruled out a jaw-dropping strike by Fabio Grosso for offside after just three minutes.
When the maestro Andrea Pirlo hit a 40-yard ball to Grosso, the full-back was level. It was a shame and proved pivotal.
On 13 minutes Brazil produced the kind of breakneck move that so often leaves their poor opponents mesmerized.
Ronaldinho fed Elano, who played a defence-splitting one-two with Robinho. When the ball arrived back at his feet, Elano beat Gianluigi Buffon with a clinical finish.
The world’s best defence, still boasting Fabio Cannavaro at its core, was carved open in a heartbeat.
Brazil have won five, and current world champs Italy four World Cups.
And you could see this was more than just a friendly.
Even if Lippi threw in the towel by making changes when it became clear the Azzurri could not win.
The killjoy Arsenal stewards who make it their business to take the pleasure out of the game, did their best to stop the Mexican waves.
For once the jobsworths lost.
And for once there was an atmosphere at the Arsenal stadium worthy of the champagne football on show. In the three seasons since they moved here, Arsenal normally serve up a treat on the pitch.
But nothing like the moments Brazil gave us last night. Or Italy.
Cannavaro, the centre-half, almost scored with a bicycle kick with 25 minutes gone.
Within seconds, up went Brazil and Robinho had everyone in the stands applauding his majesty.
He stole the ball from Pirlo went past him, sold a dummy to Gianluca Zambrotta and Nicola Legrotaglie then beat the world’s best keeper Buffon with his weaker left foot.
Italy rallied but could not beat the inspired Julio Cesar in the Brazil goal.
This was a three-star Michelin football. Those who were here will savour it forever.
