Messi: Rooney, Van Persie & Aguero the Premier League's best
The Barcelona star has taken the time to praise the attackers as he feels the three are the undisputed stars of the English top flight with each possessing their own style of play
Barcelona attacker Lionel Messi has labelled Arsenal's Robin van Persie, Manchester United's Wayne Rooney and Manchester City's Sergio Aguero as the three undisputed stars of the Premier League.
The Argentine admitted that there are a number of good players plying their trade in England's top tier, but was quick to single out the three forwards as the league's stars.
"There are several quality players in the Premier League like Kun Aguero, who is my friend. I really like how he plays," Messi was quoted as saying by BBC Sport.
"Rooney [and] Van Persie are playing really well - they are great players.
"No one player is the same as another. I think each player has his own style, and we're all different."
Messi has already netted 50 goals in 43 appearances in all competitions for Barcelona in the 2011-12 campaign. |

Manchester City ready to fast-track Vincent Kompany return
Rob Dawson March 17, 2012
Manchester City's Vincent Kompany hopes to return against Chelsea
Roberto Mancini is ready to rush Vincent Kompany back into action to get Manchester City’s title bid back on track.
City have struggled since Kompany was forced off with a calf injury after 12 minutes of the Europa League first leg against Sporting Lisbon nine days ago.
Without the Belgian defender, City lost in the Estadio Jose Alvalade and against Swansea in the Premier League at the weekend, with Mancini opting to pair Kolo Toure with Stefan Savic in the centre of defence.
And City’s defensive frailties were exposed again in the return leg with Sporting when two first-half goals cost them their place in the Europa League.
Mancini originally ruled Kompany out for 10 days after he hobbled off in Lisbon. Then, ahead of Thursday’s second leg, the Italian revealed he had pencilled his captain in for a return against Stoke on March 24.
But with City out of Europe and overtaken by United at the top of the Premier League, Mancini is ready to welcome Kompany back early to face Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday.
Kompany’s regular centre-half partner, Joleon Lescott, is also likely to return against Roberto Di Matteo’s side. |

Manchester City's Balotelli probably the best penalty taker in the world - Hart
The goalkeeper is full of praise for his team-mate but believes he could 'get inside his head' and stop him if England were to play Italy
By Husmukh Kerai
Joe Hart has labelled his Manchester City team-mate Mario Balotelli as "one of the best" penalty takers he has ever faced, claiming his spot kicks are "almost impossible to stop".
Hart saved Scott Sinclair's penalty in City's 1-0 defeat to Swansea, but conceded that he never gets close to saving spot kicks taken by Balotelli in training.
The Italian scored his most recent penalty against Sporting Lisbon in the Europa League as City were eliminated on away goals.
Hart told the club's official website: "Yeah, I hate to say it, he’s one of the best I’ve ever faced.
“He's got this mad ability where he doesn't need to look at the ball. If you don't move he kicks it in the corner; if you do move he kicks it the other way – it’s almost impossible to stop."
However the 24-year-old goalkeeper revealed that he fancies his chances against Balotelli if they were ever to meet in a competitive match.
He added: "I need to get inside his head and I reckon if England played Italy, I would be able to stop him!”
Mario Balotelli has scored every penalty he has taken for Manchester City including a high pressure last minute winner against Tottenham Hotspur. |

Lescott buoyed by Tevez return
Joleon Lescott believes Carlos Tevez's return will be like a new signing for Manchester City in their bid to become Premier League champions.
Tevez has been building up his fitness over the past couple of weeks after coming back to England and drawing a line under his long-running row with the club.
It had looked like the Argentine would never play for City again when he angered Roberto Mancini by refusing to warm up during a UEFA Champions League game at Bayern Munich.
However, Mancini has accepted an apology from Tevez and has indicated that he could feature in Wednesday's clash with Chelsea.
Lescott admits the situation has been far from ideal but says everyone in the squad is fully behind Tevez as he prepares to make his first-team return.
The defender is also confident that his team-mate can recapture the sort of form that once made him such a talismanic figure at City and play a crucial part in the run-in.
"He's like a new signing. He's not been injured so he is not going to be struggling too much in terms of sharpness and fitness," Lescott told Sky Sports News.
"All the boys are excited and can't wait for him to get playing again.
"Over the last two years he has probably performed at the highest consistent level as anyone else, so none of us discourage what Carlos has done for the club and obviously what he continues to do.
"Obviously the situation was not great for the club and it looked bad for everyone, but it was dealt with and the bright side is now that we have got him back and got him in the team again." |

Mancini sees Lazio parallels
Italian accepts Man City have made similar mistakes in title race
Roberto Mancini: Admits Manchester City have made mistakes like Lazio did
Roberto Mancini has admitted the mistakes Manchester City have made this season remind him of what happened when he was a player with Lazio and they slipped up in the title race.
City have been on top of the Premier League for most of the season but dropped behind Manchester United last weekend after losing to Swansea.
They have not been quite as consistent over the past few weeks as they were earlier in the season when they were in scintillating form.
Mancini accepts that a developing team such as City will always have hiccups, but will be hoping their campaign does not end in disappointment.
The Italian recalls a time when he was a player with Lazio and, after winning the Coppa Italia in his first season with the club, they held a seven-point lead in the league the following campaign.
However, they stumbled and ended up losing out to AC Milan on the final day.
"I think we can draw parallels with that Lazio and this Man City," Mancini said in The People.
"We have made mistakes so far, but that's normal for a team that is growing up like ourselves." |

Hart would welcome armband
Man City star wants captaincy
Joe Hart: Would take England armband
Manchester City keeper Joe Hart has insisted that he is ready to take the England armband.
Hart was in the running to become captain last month for the friendly with Holland, but Tottenham's Scott Parker got the job.
But Hart is hoping that Fabio Capello's successor could turn to him.
"Of course, I would take it if it was given to me - but there are lot more people in pole position," said the 24-yea-old.

"I think football is the kind of sport where it doesn't really matter who is in charge. You can be a captain without being one.
"You can do your thing whether or not you have a band on your arm." |
