Bara-booms remain a mystery

It’s unclear what caused two separate instances in which flashes of light were followed by thunderous booms in Baraboo early Sunday.
“We don’t know if we have Clintonville going on here or what,” said Baraboo Police Chief Mark Schauf, referring to the city west of Green Bay where residents have heard multiple booms in recent weeks.
Baraboo city officials may now have their own booms to investigate.
A resident on Sauk Avenue called 911 to report a loud boom Sunday around 1 a.m. That prompted more than 30 comments on the Baraboo Scanner page on Facebook — which posts information about calls to public service agencies — from other residents who heard the same thing. Some reported they saw a flash before the boom.
About 45 minutes later, residents throughout the city called authorities to report a second flash and boom.

Sekiranya berlaku sebarang kecemasan situasi (eg. bencana alam seperti gempabumi dan banjir), perkara pertama yg akan habis dijual di pasaraya ialah MAKANAN/MINUMAN. Tapi tahukah kita betapa kita semua sebenarnya bergantung kpd sistem transportasi utk mendapat bekalan makanan/minuman ini? Pasaraya2/kedai2 tidak menyimpan stok yg banyak. Mereka hanya menyimpan bekalan cukup2 sahaja utk suatu tempoh tertentu. Apabila stok barangan sudah hampir habis, mereka akan memesannya dari kilang/pengeluar/pemborong. Dan utk menghantar produk2 ini kpd pasaraya/penjual, barangan akan dihantar menggunakan TRUCK/LORI.
Walau bagaimanapun, sekiranya berlaku bencana, di mana sistem transportasi terganggu, ini bererti tiada siapa yg akan dapat menghantar bekalan barangan kpd kedai2/pasaraya. Jadi kedai2/pasaraya akan menjadi kosong dan akibatnya ialah end-user (pengguna akhir seperti kita), tidak akan dapat membeli apa2 barangan. Kita terpaksa berlapar sehinggalah (itu pun kalau ada) sistem transportasi berfungsi semula. Pengetahuan ini sebenarnya bersifat umum, namun tidak ramai yg tahu atau sedar mengenainya.
Di bawah adalah artikel tentang bagaimana sistem transportasi boleh 'membunuh' ramai orang sekiranya sesuatu bencana berlaku dan mengakibatkan sistem transportasi seperti (big) truck terganggu/terhenti.

A heavenly body possibly as large as the giant planet Jupiter and possibly so close to Earth
that it would be part of this solar system has been found in the direction of the constellation
Orion by an orbiting telescope aboard the U.S. infrared astronomical satellite.
So mysterious is the object that astronomers do not know if it is a planet, a giant comet, a
nearby "protostar" that never got hot enough to become a star, a distant galaxy so young that
it is still in the process of forming its first stars or a galaxy so shrouded in dust that none of the
light cast by its stars ever gets through.
"All I can tell you is that we don't know what it is," Dr. Gerry Neugebauer, IRAS chief
scientist for California's Jet Propulsion Laboratory and director of the Palomar Observatory
for the California Institute of Technology, said in an interview.
The most fascinating explanation of this mystery body, which is so cold it casts no light and
has never been seen by optical telescopes on Earth or in space, is that it is a giant gaseous
planet as large as Jupiter and as close to Earth as 50 trillion miles. While that may seem like a
great distance in earthbound terms, it is a stone's throw in cosmological terms, so close in fact
that it would be the nearest heavenly body to Earth beyond the outermost planet Pluto.
"If it is really that close, it would be a part of our solar system," said Dr. James Houck of
Cornell University's Center for Radio Physics and Space Research and a member of the
IRAS science team. "If it is that close, I don't know how the world's planetary scientists
would even begin to classify it."
The mystery body was seen twice by the infrared satellite as it scanned the northern sky from
last January to November, when the satellite ran out of the supercold helium that allowed its
telescope to see the coldest bodies in the heavens. The second observation took place six
months after the first and suggested the mystery body had not moved from its spot in the sky
near the western edge of the constellation Orion in that time.
"This suggests it's not a comet because a comet would not be as large as the one we've
observed and a comet would probably have moved," Houck said. "A planet may have moved
if it were as close as 50 trillion miles but it could still be a more distant planet and not have
moved in six months time."
Whatever it is, Houck said, the mystery body is so cold its temperature is no more than 40
degrees above "absolute" zero, which is 456 degrees Fahrenheit below zero. The telescope
aboard IRAS is cooled so low and is so sensitive it can "see" objects in the heavens that are
only 20 degrees above absolute zero.
When IRAS scientists first saw the mystery body and calculated that it could be as close as
50 trillion miles, there was some speculation that it might be moving toward Earth.
"It's not incoming mail," Cal Tech's Neugebauer said. "I want to douse that idea with as much
cold water as I can."
Then, what is it? What if it is as large as Jupiter and so close to the sun it would be part of the
solar system? Conceivably, it could be the 10th planet astronomers have searched for in vain.
It also might be a Jupiter-like star that started out to become a star eons ago but never got hot
enough like the sun to become a star.

DALLAS: Enam hingga 13 puting beliung melanda kawasan padat penduduk di Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas, kelmarin meranapkan beratus-ratus kediaman, menyebabkan treler serta trak melayang ke udara, tetapi tiada yang dilaporkan maut atau cedera parah setakat ini. Juru kaji cuaca Perkhidmatan Cuaca Kebangsaan, Jesse Moore, berkata lebih sedozen puting beliung menyebabkan keadaan kelam kabut berpunca daripada angin kencang, hujan dan hujan batu ‘menyerang’ kawasan keempat paling padat di negara itu. Kebanyakan 6.3 juta penduduk terpaksa berebut mencari tempat berlindung yang selamat berikutan ribut masih berlaku sehingga petang, ketika sekolah dan pejabat masih dibuka.
“Kami lihat bumbung tercabut melayang ke udara, rumah hancur, treler dan traktor terbalik. Ia adalah hari teruk akibat cuaca buruk di utara Texas,” kata Moore.
Puting beliung juga menyebabkan trak melambung seperti alat permainan di Plaza Flying J Truck di Dallas, kata pemandu trak Michael Glennon, yang merakam kemusnahan itu menerusi video kameranya.
“Treler kedua hancur selepas diterbangkan sehingga 15 hingga 30 meter ke udara,” katanya. Rakaman video di tempat letak kereta trak menunjukkan barisan treler bertindih dan hancur.
Ribut kencang yang masuk ke Oklahoma, Arkansas dan Louisiana berpotensi membawa lebih banyak puting beliung pada malam Selasa (semalam), kata Moore.
Murid gred enam, Hailey Pellerin berkata, beliau dan rakannya baru mula makan tengah hari apabila guru mengarahkan pelajar kembali ke kelas sekolah rendah di barat daya Arlington.
“Kami berlindung selama dua jam,” katanya. Pelajar diarah duduk, berbaris di tepi dinding di kelas masing-masing dan melindungi kepala mereka. Bekalan elektrik terputus, keadaan jadi terlalu gelap dan panas,” katanya.

Beberapa kali dah perasan apabila memandang ke langit pd waktu malam. Dlm banyak2 bintang di langit, ada 2 bintang yg terlalu ketara sangat kerlipannya+ agak besar lah klu nk dibandingkan dgn bintang yg lain2 tu. Penah terfikir adakah itu bintangnya (atau planet2 yg dikatakan sdg menghampiri bumi?) Begitu juga dgn bulan, ku rasa seolah2 kedudukan bulan tu cam dekat sangat dgn bumi (sbb bulan tu nampak bersaiz besar). Emm..apa pun hanya Dia yg Maha Mengetahui. |

Saya pun perasan juga bintang2 tu, cuma terfikir, mungkin ia adalah Venus atau Mars, yg kadang2 kita dapat lihat dgn terang. Atau mungkin satelite. Menerusi pembacaan saya di forum2 Barat, mereka mengatakan bahawa Planet X ini dapat dilihat oleh mereka yg berada di Hemisfera Utara. Dan ada juga yg memberitahu, bahawa mereka dapat melihat Planet ini pada waktu pagi, apabila langit cerah dan tiada awan/mendung, tiada chemtrail, etc... Wallahua'lam... |
