Milan striker Filippo Inzaghi has stated that he deserves to be given an opportunity in the team, after finding appearances hard to come by in the early stages of the season. ......... prffthhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
The veteran forward, who turned 38 in the summer missed the majority of Milan's 2010-11 Scudetto-winning campaign with a knee injury, but the player is now fully fit.
"My objective is to get back to being the player I was. I deserve to play and the fans deserve it too. Besides, I don't know how to live without football, as I'm like a kid who always wants to play and learn even more," the striker told So Foot magazine.
The former Juventus player then spoke of the strikers he believes possess a similar style to himself on the pitch.
"Without doubt the striker who resembles me the most is Alberto Gilardino, but also Paloschi," he added.
Inzaghi also talked of the most difficult encounter he has had with defenders since making his Serie A debut with Parma in 1995.
"The toughest defenders I've faced are Alessandro Nesta, Paolo Maldini, Ivan Cordoba, Ciro Ferrara and Walter Samuel," he said.
Milan return to league action next Saturday with a home game against Palermo, where Inzaghi will be hoping to be involved in the fixture.
