Toni beat the offside trap to control a Mark van Bommel header and sweep the ball past Robert Enke on the turn in the 58th minute.
Six minutes later the Italian was too alert for the Hanover defence once again, as he raced on to Bastian Schweinsteiger's pass and finished calmly.
Toni completed the hat-trick by heading over Enke after the unfortunate keeper had saved a shot with his legs, only to see the rebound go straight back to the striker. |
