The whole village is in a jovial mood, the ketua kampong, Pak Aziz has announced last week that this weekend is his son抯 wedding. The whole village had put their effort together to make the wedding a joyous event for everyone, it is however a puzzle to them why Yeop had not come home earlier to help, instead he抣l arrive on the night of his akad nikah. Ibu and Pak Aziz had been busy the whole week arranging the wedding and was quite taken back that Deris did not come early to help, but they were just happy for the time being that at last he wants to settle down. It was six months ago when Deris had came back and told his parents he wants them to choose his bride.
It was also six months ago that Deris had taken the decision to go to KL to find her; he had not been able to work and live in peace since she walked away from him at the airport. Deris had asked the help of Hazwan, the UNICEF official he knows for her home address. As soon as he was able to get leave from his agency UNHRD he took the first flight to KL and headed straight for her address. When he arrived at her house, he was surprised that there was a big function going on. He arrived around 10:00 am and there was a crowd already gathering inside the hall of her home. He went in and saw the pelamin, his jaw dropped and he asked the person he first laid his eyes on, 揥edding dah lansung? |
