Steven Pienaar has claimed on his official Twitter website that he has agreed to join Tottenham from Everton . Spurs were favourites to land the South African international despite interest from Chelsea.
Writing on social networking website Twitter, Pienaar has said: "To end speculation I am going to Spurs.
"I've had brilliant years at Everton and it will always be a special place in my heart."
There has been no official confirmation from either club yet, but it appears Pienaar is set to swap Goodison Park for White Hart Lane.
Pienaar travelled to London on Tuesday to hold talks with Tottenham and undergo a medical after they finally agreed a fee with Everton on Monday.
It seems talks have gone well and Pienaar is poised to put pen-to-paper on a deal at Spurs.
Chelsea also had a bid accepted by Everton for the former Ajax and Borussia Dortmund star, but Pienaar could not agree personal terms with the Blues.
Everton were resigned to losing last term's player of the season with his contract due to expire in the summer and David Moyes will now hope to be given funds to replace the attacking midfielder.
