Kanjani8's Shota Yasuda and Ryuhei Maruyama will co-star in a TV Aichi dorama special slated to air on 23 November 2006 entitled "Jitensha Shounen Ki", which is based on a cellphone-only novel that had attracted over 450,000 views. The story is about two friends facing hardships and the reality of life as they grow up, form a bicycle club in high school and fall in love.
Shota Yasuda as Shouhei
Ryuhei Maruyama as Souta
Yasuda plays Shouhei who excels in sports but a reckless athlete. Maruyama plays Souta who is shy but hardworking and dreams to become a professional cyclist. Intense training puts Souta on top of his game and he proves that he's better than Shouhei during a cycling competition. Meanwhile, Shohei sacrifices himself so that Souta could win the competition. However, an injury during college prevents Souta from pursuing his dream. At the same time, he decided to break up with his girlfriend, Kanade, who wants to study abroad. A worried Shouhei comes to see him but they end up in a fist fight...Maruyama will narrate the story.
The filming of the dorama has begun on October 4th.

After Ryo Nishikido's solo concert early this year and Subaru Shibutani/Tadayoshi Ohkura's solo concerts in late August and middle of September, 3 more Kanjani8's members, Shingo Murakami, Shota Yasuda and Ryuhei Maruyama will have their own solo concerts in the Shochikuza Theater, Osaka in December. This piece of news was announced during the MC portion in the Fukuoka leg of their 1-st National Tour on October 7th.
Another piece of unconfirmed news is that K8 will also have winter concerts beginning December 2nd in Fukuoka. Although unconfirmed, but K8 members said it themselves during the MC and it's likely to be true. During K8's Sapporo leg on September 24th, Yu Yokoyama has mentioned that K8 will be going back to Sapporo again this winter, and it's also likely that K8's winter concerts will not only hit Fukuoka and Sapporo, but will also cover Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka. |
