It is the first time for Satoshi Ohno, the leader of Arashi, to star in a drama series as the leading actor. However, he has been showing his artistic talents through drawing& painting as well as sculpting,and he is also a talented actor who has been building up up experience through starring in many stage plays.
バラエティ番組などで見せる穏やかでちょっとトボけた人柄で知られていますが、その奥底にひそむ独特の「謎めいた魅力」に、既に気付いている方も多いと思います。

ドラマ出演の話を聞いたときは、思わず心の中で笑ってしまいました。
When I first heard about starring in TV drama series, I could not help but laugh.
嘘に違いないと。
Cannot be true.
役に合わせるために、美容院に行った時もまだドッキリじゃないかと思ってテレビカメラを探してしまったくらいです。
Even when I was at a hairdresser to change my hair to suit the character, I was still looking for a camera for the prank on stars show.
でも、髪を切って、黒く染めて、徐々にリアルになってきました。
It is starting to feel real now that I have cut my hair and dyed it black.
そして今は、やるからには最高の夏にしたいと思っています。
And now, I am thinking "if I am gonna do it, then I wanna make it the best summer".
初めての連続ドラマなので、楽しんでやりたいと思っていますが、特殊な設定なので日常もストイックになりそうですね（笑）。
it is my first time starring in TV drama series, so I would like to have fun, but the setting is unusual, so I may become stoic (I think he meant "cool" "someone who does not express emotions much" kind of meaning - which is common usage and meaning when "stoic" is used in Japanese conversation - not Stoic that we think of) *laugh*.
復讐なんてやったこともないし、これまで考えたこともない。
I have not avenged anyone and I have never even thought about revenge before.
難しい役ですが、それだけにやり甲斐もあるので、真正面から向き合って、皆さんの期待に応えられるように頑張ります。
It is a difficult character, but it is also a worthwhile challenge, so I would like to give it my 100%, facing this challenge full-on, in order to be able to meet everyone's expectation.
共演の斗真とは、ちゃんと芝居で向き合うのは久々なので、楽しみですし新しい刺激を受けられそうです。
It has been a while since I have faced Toma (he said "Toma" - no san or chan - just Toma!) through acting, so I am looking forward to it and I feel that he will give me new inspiration.

今回の役は、僕にとって新しいチャレンジと言えます。
To me, this character would be a new challenge.
誰もが経験したことのある過去（をもった役）ではないので、誰にでも共感を得られる人物ではないかもしれませんが、その苦悩や心の痛みを出していければと思っています。
This character does not have a past experience many people can say share, thus not a kind of character everyone can empathise with, but I would like to try to express his agony and pain.
こんなに男っぽい役を頂くことはあまりなかったので、今は色々と想像を膨らませているところです。
I have not really been given such a masculine role before, so I am letting my imagination run at the moment.
おーちゃん（大野）は昔から知ってるんですが、何を考えているか分からない。
I have known Oh-chan for a long time, but I cannot tell what he is thinking.
それでいて、人を惹きつける力があって人間的に凄く興味があったので、久しぶりに（※2004年の舞台「WEST SIDE STORY」以来）がっつり芝居で向き合えるのが非常に楽しみです。
Yet he has this charm that attract people and I have always been interested in him, so it is a real pleasure to be able to face him through acting again for the first time in a long time (since West Side Story where Ohno was Riff from the Jets and Toma was also a member of the Jets back in 2004).
凄く大変な撮影になると思いますが、皆で刺激しあっていいドラマに出来れば。
I think it is going to be a hard filming, but I hope that we can all provide each other inspiration.
新しい、それでいてスタンダートな深みのあるドラマにしたいです。
I am hoping to make a very new, yet standard and deep drama. |

会議室に入った瞬間、
聞こえてきたのはハーモニカの音色。
Yesterday, I went to an official Maou meeting and as soon as I entered into the conference room, I heard mouth harp playing.
メロディはハッピーバースデー。
The song being played was "happy birthday".
何と
慢性寝不足状態の忙しい制作チームの皆さんが
誕生日をお祝いしてくれたんです。
Unexpectedly, production team of Maou celebrated my birthday despite the fact they are suffering from chronic lack of sleep being so busy.

幻の芋焼酎・「魔王」
１．８Ｌのどデカイやつです！
Birthday gift I received from them was 1.8lt bottle of extremely rare shouchu (Japanese potato wine) called "Maou"!
この心遣い・・・・ありがたかったです。
Their thoughtfulness...it was much appreciated.
ジワーと胸にこみ上げるモノを感じ
お礼の気持ちを長々語りたいところでしたが
時間がないので
すぐさま脚本の話に入りました。
I was so touched and really wanted to tell them how thankful I was for ages but because we had no time at all, we went straight into discussing screenplay.

「魔王」スタッフの渡辺です。
I am a staff who works on "Maou".
ここではこの夏で一番熱いドラマを作ろうと燃えている「魔王」チームの現場の奮闘ぶりや、
出演者の皆さんのオフショットや撮影エピソードなど、
ドラマ「魔王」がもっと面白くなる制作秘話や現場レポートをお届けしていきたいと思います。
I would like to use this diary/blog to report the effort made by Maou team who is burning with passion to create the hottest drama for this summer, casts' off the shoot face, filming episodes etc. - such things as secret behind the scenes and filming report - that will make watching TV drama Maou even more interesting.
さて、ロケは５月末日にクランクインし、順調に撮影が続いております。
Filming on location started towards the end of May and filming is going very well.
大野クンはコンサートツアーの合間にトレードマークだった金髪を、真っ黒に染め、
表は心優しく"天使の弁護士"と呼ばれながらも、裏では復讐に執念を燃やす"魔王"役に
挑戦しています。
Ohno-kun dyed his blond hair he was famous for to black between the concert tour, and has taken on a challenge of playing Maou character who has a facade of angelic lawyer but hidden underneath is Maou who is obsessed with revenge.
難しい役にも関わらず、優しくて朗らかな素顔から一転、持ち前の抜群の演技力で、
キューが出るとすっかり悪魔に変身！
Although it is a very difficult character, once the director cues him in, he transforms into the devil using his great acting skills from his usual gentle and cheerful self.
モニターを見ているスタッフは思わず、「魔王だよぉ」と呟いてしまうのです。
Staff checking on monitor cannot help but　mutter "wow he is Maou"...
一方、生田クンも髪を短く切って、熱血刑事・芹沢直人に挑んでくれてます。
at the same time, Ikuta-kun has also taken on a challenge of playing passionate detective, Naoto Serizawa.
これまでの生田クンとは一味違う"男っぽい"雰囲気は、絶対に見逃せません！
You cannot miss Ikuta-kun who shows very "manly" image which is nothing like the character he has played in the past.
この役もまた暗い過去を持っており、熱さの中に切なさが垣間見えるという難しい役。
This is also a very difficult character who has a dark past and his pain peers through within his passion.
しかし、さすが生田斗真。役者魂と根っからの熱さで、すっかり直人に変身！
However, as expected, Ikuta-kun, born with acting spirit and passion, transforms into Naoto!
モニターを見ているスタッフは、「熱いねぇ」と思わず呟いてしまうのでした。
Staff checking on monitor cannot help but　mutter "wow he is so passionate"...
そして、今日はスタジオでの撮影初日。
Today, we filmed in a studio.
美術スタッフ渾身の警察署のセットが組まれ、今こうして書いている間も大野クンと生田クンが
第１話のクライマックス＝"魔王"と"熱血刑事"の対決シーンが撮影されています。
Art staff put in their heart and soul to create a police station in a studio and as I write this, Ohno-kun and Ikuta-kun is being filmed for a climax scene of the first episode - confrontation between Maou and the detective.
超クールな大野クンと、男らしさ剥き出しの生田クンは、このドラマでしか見られない必見映像ですよ！！
You must not miss super cool ohno-kun and red-blooded Ikuta-kun that you would only see on this drama!!
ちなみに、お隣のスタジオでは、「渡る世間は鬼ばかり」の収録中。
By the way, they are filming "wataru seken ha oni bakari" (the world is full of ogre).
この夏、緑山スタジオには"悪魔"と"鬼"が棲んでいます。
This summer, the devil and the ogre reside at Midoriyama studio ...

Ｗ主演の大野智さん、生田斗真さんをはじめ、「魔王」は豪華キャストが勢ぞろい！
For Maou, lavish casts including leading actors, Ohno Satoshi -san & Ikuta Toma -san gathered!
生田クンのお父さん役で石坂浩二さん、お兄さん役で劇団ひとりさん、義理の姉は、吉瀬美智子さん。
Ikuta-kun's father is played by Ishizaka Koji -san, brother's played by Gekidan Hitori-san, sister in law is played by Kichise Michiko-san.
刑事役で三宅裕司さん、上原美佐さん。
Detectives are played by Miyake Yuji-san and Uehara Misa-san.
友人には、田中圭さん、忍成修吾さん、脇知弘さん。
Friends (of Naoto=Ikuta's character) are played by Tanaka Kei-san, Oshinari Syugo-san, and Waki Tomohiro
-san.
そして、ヒロインの小林涼子さんと、ワクワクするキャストが集まってくれました。
And for the heroine, Kobayashi Ryoko-san...exciting cast members have gathered for us.

aku dah tengok Mawang... best.. revenge drama... Aku rasa macam Mawang ni even better dari Resurrection..
Tapi Maou walaupun remake dari Mawang... aku ada strong feeling derang akan tukar kebanyakkan plot dari versi asal.. |
